Methods to remove the toxins and bitterness of almonds:

1. Soak bitter almonds in water, remove the seed coat, and soak them in water for several days, changing the water frequently, until the bitter taste is gone before eating. They should be cooked or fried before eating, because heating will destroy the activity of amygdalin and volatilize hydrocyanic acid, so it is safe to process almonds into almond cream or almond tea.

Sweet almonds have relatively small toxic side effects, but eating too much can still cause poisoning, so it is not advisable to eat too much.

2. Soak the almonds in cold water for a day and boil them in water for 5 minutes. Do not boil the almonds for too long to prevent them from rising and affecting the taste. Continue soaking the peeled and tipped almonds, changing the water once in the morning and evening for three consecutive days.

How to eat almonds:

Almond and sugar porridge. Ingredients: 10g almond, 100g polished rice, 30g sugar. Preparation: Wash and peel the almonds, wrap them with clean gauze (note that the almonds must be prepared according to the specified quantity, do not put too much), wash the polished rice, put it in an aluminum pot, add almonds and about 500g of water and cook together. When the rice blooms and the porridge is thick, remove the almonds, season with sugar, and eat after it cools down. Efficacy: replenishes qi and blood, moisturizes the intestines and relieves constipation. Suitable for women with postpartum constipation due to lack of body fluid.

Yam and almond porridge. Ingredients: 100g yam, 100g corn, 20g almond, appropriate amount of ghee. Preparation: Cook the yam, fry the corn into noodles; fry the almonds until cooked, peel the tips, cut into pieces, and cook them into porridge. Efficacy: replenish qi, warm the middle and moisten the lungs. Suitable for patients with spleen deficiency, weak body, and chronic cough due to lung deficiency.
