Causes of itchy eyes, different ways to treat them

In daily life, eyes are the most important organ for us to see the outside world clearly, but sometimes people's eyes will itch. So, what are the reasons for itchy eyes?

Long-term overuse of eyes causes eye fatigue

Symptoms: Redness, itching, or tearing of the eyes.

Internet users who often use computers may find that their eyes are always bloodshot, dry, and itchy. This is often a case of chronic conjunctivitis and has nothing to do with infection. Therefore, it is not advisable to use antibiotic eye drops. If used, they will not only be ineffective but will also cause drug resistance. In severe cases, they may even cause drug resistance and develop into drug-induced conjunctivitis.

Treatment: The cause should be found before treatment, and then corresponding measures should be taken, such as improving the working and living environment, paying attention to personal hygiene, avoiding eye fatigue, ensuring adequate sleep, wearing goggles for long-term outdoor workers, correcting refractive errors and strabismus, and actively treating the patient's original eye disease. For patients with obvious symptoms such as itchy eyes, zinc sulfate eye drops can be dropped 3-4 times a day to relieve symptoms.

Long-term use of certain cosmetics or eye-contact medications and glasses

Symptoms: Frequent blinking, red and itchy eyes, and swelling after rubbing the eyes during makeup or medication use.

Cosmetics such as mascara and eye cream, as well as fragrances in perfumes, can all become allergens that cause disease. Not only cosmetics, but also wearing contact lenses can cause eye allergies. This is because contact lenses easily absorb dust and dirt in the air. Long-term wearing or improper cleaning may also cause allergies. In addition, some contact lens care solutions may also cause allergies if they are improperly opened and stored for a long time.

Treatment: 1. Reduce the use of cosmetics, or replace cosmetics with different active ingredients. 2. Reduce the number of times you wear contact lenses, choose framed lenses, and pay attention to eye hygiene.
