Men, beware! Epididymal cysts are most likely to be confused with these diseases

Epididymal cysts are also called spermatoceles. This disease usually occurs in young and middle-aged men. The disease usually occurs in the head of the epididymis, and rarely in the tail and body. According to experts, the symptoms of epididymal cysts are similar to those of many diseases, so they are particularly easy to confuse.

1) Hydrocele of testis:

It is quite common and people often confuse it with spermatocele. During physical examination, you can feel a large amount of fluid accumulated in the hydrocele, which is mostly located in front of the testicle or surrounding the entire testicle. Doctors often have difficulty touching the testicle through the fluid. Its light transmission test shows a high degree of light transmission. If you use a needle to aspirate, you can suck out a lot of clear strawberry-colored fluid.

2) Varicose vein:

It is common in young people. It is a large number of dilated, earthworm-like venous clusters located in the spermatic cord above the testicles. During a standing physical examination, a large number of winding superficial venous vessels can be seen on the surface of the scrotum. When touched, the spermatic cord can be found to be very thick, with many unevenly distributed blood vessels in a cord-like manner. It is mostly located above and behind the testicles. It is one of the important causes of male infertility.

3) Epididymal tuberculosis:

It may be a rather hard cord-like mass, and sometimes you can feel the beaded vas deferens, the uneven hard nodules of the seminal vesicle and the prostate. Most patients have sterile purulent urine. Or the presence of sinuses is helpful to confirm the diagnosis of epididymal tuberculosis.

4) Epididymal tumor:

It is a rare, usually benign, radiopaque myoma.

5) Testicular tumor:

It may be a painless scrotal mass, but it is an enlargement of the testicle itself rather than another mass. The epididymis usually appears normal on physical examination. If the tumor is accompanied by a hydrocele, it makes diagnosis difficult. If a testicular tumor is suspected, it should be thoroughly explored through an inguinal incision.
