There are four key points in male genital examination

In life, many men are relatively "careless" and do not care about their personal health. They always think that they are young and healthy. Therefore, they develop many bad habits, which in turn cause repeated injuries to the body. When there is a problem with the male genitals, what kind of examinations should be done in the hospital?

Male reproductive examination 1. Male genital examination to check whether the penis is injured

The correct diagnosis can usually be made based on the history of trauma and local manifestations, and no special examination is usually required. Cavernography can show the location and extent of cavernous body damage.

Male reproductive examination 2. Male genital examination scrotum

Outside the body surface, the location and extent of the injury are easy to diagnose. Ultrasound examination helps to correctly judge scrotal hematoma and determine whether the testicles are damaged; it helps to determine the indications for surgical exploration, such as testicular rupture and retained foreign body.

Male reproductive examination 3. Through medical history and physical examination

Male genital examination: It is important to check the size and texture of the testicles in the scrotum. The presence or absence of nodules in the epididymis often indicates whether the epididymis has ever had inflammation or tuberculosis. A round mass is likely to be a spermatocele that can block the patency of the epididymis duct. A full epididymis with no sperm in the semen may be obstructive azoospermia. The presence or absence of varicocele is also an important part of the examination.

Male reproductive examination 4. Prostate examination

Through anal digital examination, the prostate can be felt on the anterior wall of the rectum. Based on its size, texture, and tenderness, it can be preliminarily judged whether there is a problem with the prostate. If necessary, prostate massage can be performed to obtain fluid for laboratory testing. The seminal vesicle is usually not palpable under normal circumstances, but when it is enlarged due to inflammation, sometimes a tender seminal vesicle can be felt above the prostate.
