Normal fasting blood sugar

① Generally, the fasting whole blood glucose level is 3.9-6.1 mmol/L (70-110 mg/dL), and the plasma glucose level is 3.9-6.9 mmol/L (70-125 mg/dL).

② Fasting whole blood glucose ≥6.7 mmol/L (120 mg/dL) and plasma glucose ≥7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL), repeated measurements twice can diagnose diabetes.

③ When the fasting whole blood glucose level is above 5.6 mmol/L (100 mg/dL) and the plasma glucose level is above 6.4 mmol/L (115 mg/dL), a glucose tolerance test should be performed.

④ When fasting whole blood glucose exceeds 11.1 mmol/L (200 mg/dL), it indicates that insulin secretion is minimal or absent. Therefore, when fasting blood glucose is significantly elevated, diabetes can be diagnosed without other tests.

Normal blood sugar level after meal

① 1 hour after meal: blood sugar 6.7-9.4 mmol/L. The maximum value is not more than 11.1mmol/L (200mg/dl)

②2 hours after meal: blood sugar ≤7.8 mmol/L.

③3 hours after meal: Return to normal after the third hour, and all urine sugars are negative
