Seborrheic alopecia, different symptoms in four stages

Seborrheic alopecia is also known as "premature baldness" or "male pattern baldness". This disease is closely related to genetics, male hormone secretion, and sebum secretion. The patient's hair often feels very greasy, which is also one of the main characteristics of the disease. So, what are the symptoms of seborrheic alopecia?

Early days

The hair is oily and will look greasy if not washed for a day. The hair loss symptoms are not obvious at this time. The hair gradually changes from coarse to soft.

Mid-term

The hair is oily and becomes even greasier if not washed for a day. The hair loss symptoms are obvious. The hair begins to become noticeably finer and softer.

Later

The scalp oil production increases exponentially, the scalp becomes oily and shiny, and obvious local hair loss areas appear, such as the top of the head or forehead. The hair is fine and not long, and the ends of the hair are obviously pointed, but the fine hair is like a tuft of hair. This stage is the last chance for treatment.

Late stage

The top of the head is already shiny and hairless, the subcutaneous muscle layer has disappeared or been replaced by a fat layer, the scalp tissue has been transformed into a porous skin area, and the pores have become pores. So we can only call it a hairless area and not a blade of grass. Because most people can find very fine sweat hairs when they use a magnifying glass. At this time, it can be called "permanent hair loss". The soil scalp tissue on which it depends for survival has become completely permanent and cannot be reversed.
