Typical symptoms of mania in men

Mania is a mental illness characterized by high emotions or irritability. In addition, this illness tends to recur. In more serious cases, it will also cause disordered personal behavior, garbled speech, hallucinations and other psychotic symptoms. The patient's daily life is greatly affected. So what are the causes of mania in men? Let's take a closer look.

1. Genetic factors: In clinical medicine, studies on families with mania have shown that mania may be passed on to the next generation through the X chromosome. Of course, this disease may also be passed on in other ways.

2. Physical factors: In clinical medicine, it is found that patients with strong, mesodermal bones and rich connective tissue are more likely to get sick than those who have an ectodermal physique and are slender and weak.

3. Abnormalities in the function and metabolism of central nervous system substances: At present, the use of neurobiological methods to scientifically study patients with mania has found that the function of the central nervous system norepinephrine hormone system of patients with mania is abnormal. In addition, the substances in the NE protein kinase site of most patients are also increased compared with normal people, which makes the NE system function more excited. In addition, the excretion volume of 3-methoxy-4-methyl-phenylethylene glycol (MHPG) and other substances in the urine of patients is also much higher than that of normal people. The key metabolites of NE are MHPG and 3-methoxy-4-methylmandelic acid (VMA), and 80% of MHPG in the body is produced by the central nervous system. Therefore, based on this result, it is believed that mania may be caused by an imbalance in the function of the central nervous system.

4. Abnormalities in electrolyte metabolism: Studies have found that when manic patients are in the onset stage, the patient's body cells' ability to excrete sodium is affected and compromised; and when patients are in the depressive stage, the main manifestation is a certain decrease in the blood's ability to transport sodium to the brain.

The above is the cause of male mania introduced in detail today. In addition to the above factors, men’s stress, study pressure and life pressure are increasing day by day. If this kind of work pressure cannot get a good adjustment of emotions, coupled with the influence of an unfavorable living environment, it is easy to cause mania. Therefore, to avoid this kind of disease, we should also pay attention to these unfavorable factors.
