Bladder stones refer to stones formed in the bladder, which are divided into primary bladder stones and secondary bladder stones. The former refers to stones formed in the bladder, which are mostly caused by malnutrition and are more common in children. What are the symptoms of bladder stones? Why do bladder stones occur?

Causes of Bladder Stones

1. Malnutrition

2. Foreign bodies in the bladder: such as catheters, surgical sutures, bullet heads, fishing lines, hairpins, wires, etc. can all serve as cores for the deposition of urine salts and form stones.

3. Lower urinary tract obstruction or bladder foreign body infection

4. Bladder stones after enterocystectomy

5. Bladder exstrophy-epispadias causing bladder stones

6. Lower urinary tract obstruction.

Clinical manifestations of bladder stones

1. Frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination: When stones irritate the bladder mucosa, the symptoms of bladder stones may include frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination. The pain worsens at the end of urination and may be accompanied by terminal hematuria.

2. Interrupted urination: The pain radiates to the distal urethra and glans penis, and is accompanied by dysuria and bladder irritation symptoms.

3. Pain: The pain in the symptom of bladder stones can be dull pain in the lower abdomen and perineum, or it can be obvious pain, which is often induced or aggravated by activities.

4. Hematuria and pueraria: In addition, because of the need to exert force when urinating, the abdominal pressure increases, which may cause rectal prolapse. There is often terminal hematuria. When there is infection, the irritation symptoms of the bladder will be aggravated and pueraria will occur. If the stone is located in the bladder diverticulum, it will only manifest as a urinary tract infection.

5. Painful urination, urinary dysfunction and hematuria: The symptoms of bladder stones are more obvious during daytime activities, and the above symptoms of bladder stones can be alleviated or disappear during sleep at night.
