How to treat glansitis?

Today, balanitis is spreading very fast. It is a common disease among men, and it can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. If you don't find out that you have balanitis, it is very likely to be transmitted to your wife, and eventually both the husband and wife will get sick. I believe this is something no one wants to see. So, today we will introduce to you in detail how to treat balanitis!

Traditional Chinese medicine often divides this disease into three types, namely, stagnation of toxic fire, damp-heat and insect-producing, and liver-kidney yin deficiency. Different treatments are given according to different clinical manifestations.

(1) Toxic fire stagnation type: The foreskin and glans penis are red and swollen, with erythema, papules, blisters or ulcers, and there is spontaneous pain, difficulty urinating, accompanied by sores in the mouth and tongue, and irritability. This is due to the stagnation of toxic fire, which cannot be vented. The treatment should be to clear away heat, purge fire, and detoxify. The commonly used prescription is Dao Chi Dan plus or minus: Coptis chinensis 10g, Scutellaria baicalensis 10g, Yamiaozi 10g, Akebia 10g, Radix Rehmanniae 10g, Lophatherum gracile 10g, Rhubarb 6g, Raw Licorice 10g, decocted in water, 1 dose per day.

(2) Damp-heat and worm-infested type: the glans penis is flushed, with blisters or erosions, and the penis is painful. Laboratory examinations show Candida albicans or Trichomonas infection. It is often accompanied by dampness and itching of the genitals, bitter and sticky mouth, and red and yellow urine. This is due to dampness and heat evil flowing down the liver meridian, causing worms to infest. Treatment should be aimed at clearing away heat and dampness, killing worms and stopping itching. The commonly used prescription is Longdan Xiegan Decoction with modifications: Longdancao 10g, Bupleurum 10g, Scutellaria 10g, Fructus Plantaginis 10g, Zexie 10g, Akebia 10g, Smilax glabra 30g, Stemona 10g, Rhizoma Cyperi 10g, Herba Hesperi 10g

(3) In the liver and kidney yin deficiency type, patches or hypertrophy or hardening of the foreskin and glans can be seen. Generally, there is no itching or pain, but symptoms such as backache and premature ejaculation may occur. This is due to damp heat or damp toxicity damaging the liver and kidney yin. The treatment should focus on nourishing the liver and kidney. The commonly used prescription is Liuwei Dihuang Tang with modifications: 10g each of raw and cooked rehmannia, 10g of cornus fruit, 10g of Chinese yam, 10g of Chinese wolfberry, 10g of moutan bark, 20g of Poria, 10g of Salvia miltiorrhiza, 10g of purgative, 30g of dandelion.

External treatment for balanitis:

(1) For trichomoniasis, the glans penis and inner foreskin can be rinsed with 0.5% to 1% lactic acid solution, 0.5% acetic acid solution, or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution.

(2) Candidal balanitis can be treated by washing the affected area with a baking soda solution or applying an imidazole ointment such as Daknin ointment or clotrimazole ointment.

(3) Dandelion wash: Take 30g of dandelion, 30g of wild chrysanthemum and 10g of alum, decoct them in water and apply to the affected area once a day for about 20 minutes each time.

(4) The main ingredient of Qingdai powder is indigo. Take an appropriate amount of Qingdai powder, add a little water, mix into a paste, apply to the affected area, and change the dressing once a day.

(5) For balanitis caused by bacterial infection, wash the affected area with 200 mL of 3% boric acid solution or 0.1% revulol solution twice a day for 20 minutes each time.
