Among infertility problems, low sperm survival rate is a relatively common disease. After a couple decides to conceive, pregnancy is only possible if the sperm quality is high. However, some people always have a low sperm survival rate, which leads to conception failure. Moreover, if the sperm survival rate is low for a long time, it can seriously lead to infertility in the future. So, how can we identify low sperm survival rate? Sperm count is an important indicator of fertility, but it must be analyzed in light of individual circumstances. 1) Semen volume: Normal people ejaculate 2-5ml each time. If it is less than 1ml, it is abnormal. Ejaculation of 0.5ml each time is oligospermia. If there is no semen, it is azoospermia. Azoospermia and oligospermia are the main causes of male infertility. It is seen in prostate or seminal vesicle lesions, congenital vas deferens obstruction or inflammatory stenosis, or retrograde ejaculation. 2) Color: Normally it is grayish white. It may be light yellow, milky white or slightly green when ejaculation has not occurred for a long time. It is seen in cases of infection in the reproductive tract or accessory glands. Red semen (hematospermia) is seen in cases of seminal vesiculitis, cancer, tuberculosis, etc. 3) Viscosity: Normal fresh semen is liquid, which quickly turns into a viscous, gelatinous semifluid after discharge, and then turns into a liquid again after 5 to 30 minutes. If it still does not liquefy within 30 minutes, it is abnormal, which is seen in: lack or insufficiency of certain enzymes secreted by the prostate, or in reproductive system tuberculosis, which can also affect fertility. 4) Acidity and alkalinity (pH): Normally, the pH is weakly alkaline, between 7.7 and 8.5. Semen that is too acidic or too alkaline may affect sperm activity and metabolism, and is the main cause of sperm death (necrospermia). 5) Smell: Normal semen has a special fishy smell, which is emitted by prostatic fluid. This fishy smell comes from a certain component of prostatic fluid. Couples should go to the hospital for a checkup before deciding to have a child. Some men with low sperm survival rates may occasionally make their wives pregnant, but conception in this case will affect the health of the baby. There is a high probability of miscarriage or premature birth, and even if the baby is born, it will be unhealthy. Therefore, if a man has a low sperm survival rate, he must actively seek treatment. |
