What are the effects of phimosis?

When it comes to male diseases, the most common one is phimosis. In genetic and non-genetic medicine, phimosis is largely congenital. Having a feature like phimosis will also affect some of our daily physical changes. Let us introduce the effects of phimosis.

The glans penis is completely covered by the foreskin, but can be turned up to reveal the urethral opening and glans penis, which is called prepuce. The foreskin opening is narrow or the foreskin is adhered to the glans penis, so that the foreskin cannot be turned up to reveal the urethral opening and glans penis, which is called phimosis. Phimosis is divided into congenital and acquired. Congenital phimosis is divided into atrophic type and hypertrophic type. Acquired phimosis is caused by inflammation, trauma, etc., which makes the foreskin opening adhere and narrow. Congenital phimosis can retract upwards by itself to reveal the glans penis as the penis grows and erects.

Children with phimosis may develop balanitis of the glans penis due to the accumulation of smegma in the foreskin cavity. The symptoms are a significant increase in the frequency of urination. In acute inflammation, the foreskin may become red and swollen. In severe cases, purulent secretions may be produced, accompanied by systemic poisoning symptoms such as fever. The accumulated smegma appears as a slightly white small lump through the foreskin at the coronal sulcus, which is often mistaken by parents as a tumor and leads to medical treatment. Sometimes the foreskin opening is as small as a pinhole, and urine first accumulates in the foreskin cavity during urination, causing the foreskin to swell like a cyst, the urine stream to be thin and long, and urination to be difficult. Long-term dysuria can lead to the formation of bladder and urethral stones, and vesicoureteral reflux, which can damage the kidneys.

The above are the effects of phimosis. The impact on men is very great. It can cause various male diseases and even urethritis, which can lead to more serious nephritis. Therefore, to treat phimosis, you must choose a scientific method and a method that suits you.
