Penile fracture, right? How can a penis be fractured when there are no bones in it? Anyone who sees this title will be shocked, but penis "fractures" do happen in real life. However, penis "fractures" are slightly different from what you imagine. The so-called penis "fracture" is actually a figurative term for penis breakage. Doctors say that excessive sexual activity or sudden changes in sexual positions can cause similar fractures in the corpus cavernosum of the penis. What is a penile "fracture"? Men's penises have no bones, so why can they break? In fact, when the two sexes have intercourse, the penis is in an erect state. At this time, the corpus cavernosum of the penis is filled with blood, and the blood membrane of the penis is in a highly tense state. If a strong external force is applied, the penis is bent consciously or unconsciously, which can cause the white membrane outside the corpus cavernosum to rupture. With a crisp "pop" sound, the penis becomes soft. At the same time, it may also be accompanied by severe pain, penile swelling, subcutaneous bruising and cyanosis that is biased towards the injured side, which means that the penis has a "fracture". What is the tunica albuginea? The penis is composed of two penile corpora cavernosa and one urethral corpora cavernosa. Each corpus cavernosum is covered with a thick fibrous membrane called the tunica albuginea, which has a normal thickness of about 2mm. When the penis is erect, the vascular sinuses in the corpus cavernosum become congested and the blood flow increases by 25 times compared to the flaccid state. The tunica albuginea thins to only 0.2-0.25mm, and it is very easy to rupture if you are not careful. If the surrounding tunica albuginea ruptures, a large amount of blood will flow out rapidly, leading to the formation of hematoma. This causes the classic "eggplant-shaped penis", which is swollen, discolored and deviated away from the dorsal membrane tissue. If the injury involves the urethra, blood will be discharged at the same time as urine, and even affect urination. Causes of Penile Fracture "Broken bones" can occur at any part of the penis, but are most common in the proximal 1/3. There are several reasons for "fractured bones" of the penis: 1. Wrong method: During sexual intercourse, the erect penis is not aimed at the vaginal opening and violently hits the perineum or other parts, or the sexual posture is too clever and changes, causing the penis to bend forcefully for a moment when it is erect. 2. Traumatic injury: When the penis is erect or semi-erect, it may be fractured due to the effect of external gravity or blunt force. 3. Wrong masturbation methods: Some people, in order to get stronger stimulation during masturbation, often use their hands to tap or bend the erect penis, while others constantly insert the penis into some object in order to vent their sexual desire. All of the above situations can cause penile "fracture". Treatment of penile fractures Penile "fracture" is a urological emergency. It is easy to diagnose because of the clear medical history, clear cause, obvious symptoms and signs. There are two ways to treat penile fracture: 1. One is surgical treatment, which thoroughly cleans the wound, controls bleeding, removes blood clots, prevents thrombosis in the intertrabecular spaces of the corpus cavernosum, restores the continuity and integrity of the corpus cavernosum and tunica albuginea, and controls and prevents infection. The surgical treatment effect is ideal, the penile function is also better, there is no bend or deviation, and sexual life is normal. 2. Non-surgical treatment: After placing a urinary catheter, the penis is locally compressed and bandaged and cold compressed. At the same time, sedatives and estrogen are used to keep the penis in a relaxed state, and at the same time, it fights infection and absorbs local blood clots. Because this conservative treatment has poor effects and is prone to complications, it is generally rarely used. Correct sexual concepts are important According to doctors' clinical experience, most cases of penile fracture are caused by rough sex or improper sex positions, and patients often hide their medical history because they are embarrassed to speak up. Penile fracture often occurs when using strange sexual positions or changing sexual positions suddenly, especially the position of woman on top and man on bottom, which is the most likely to cause "injury". Yue Tingxin, deputy chief physician of the Urology Department of Guangzhou Renai Tianhe Hospital, reminds people not to blindly imitate sexual positions that are not ergonomic. They should communicate with their partners during sex and remain calm even when they are passionate to avoid accidents. Whether adults or minors, they should have correct sexual concepts. It is normal for minors to masturbate. If parents find that their children are masturbating, they should not blindly blame them, but pay attention to guidance. Only by establishing correct sexual concepts can we reduce both physical and psychological harm. |
