In recent years, the number of cases of prostate stones has been increasing, so more and more men have realized the harm that prostate stones bring to their bodies. After a lot of medical practice research, prostate stones may also be complicated by urinary tract infections, so prostate stones are a disease that should not be ignored. At this time, many men still remain confused. Are prostate stones really serious? (1) It seriously affects the quality of life and causes mental burden, which reduces the patient's immunity. (2) Complications of adjacent organ inflammation: causing seminal vesiculitis, orchitis, cystitis, etc. (3) Damage to the kidneys: When urethral obstruction or urination is interrupted, bladder reflux occurs, leading to hydronephrosis, etc., which damages the kidneys and can lead to uremia in severe cases. (4) Impact on sexual function: such as sexual dysfunction, impotence, premature ejaculation, spermatorrhea, etc. Clinically, prostate stones often occur together with urinary tract infections. Studies have shown that many cases of recurrent urinary tract infections are mainly caused by prostate stones. So, why are prostate stones prone to causing recurrent urinary tract infections? According to doctors, small prostate stones can cause chronic inflammation, with inflammatory cell infiltration, the alveoli are filled with debris and desquamated epithelium, and thus can expand, the size and shape of the glandular cavity can change, and its epithelial lining disappears. There is also inflammatory cell infiltration and fibrosis between the alveoli, and the prostate stroma around the stones is also fibrotic. Since prostate stones are mostly found in the distal part of the prostate gland duct, or in the posterior lobe of the prostate or the surrounding area and deep part of the prostate, larger prostate stones can occupy the entire glandular cavity of the prostate, blocking the glandular duct, leaving only a small amount of glandular tissue, thus causing poor excretion of prostate fluid. When accompanied by inflammation and purulent formation, it can cause peripapillary prostatitis. In severe infections, abscesses can form, and even rupture to form fistulas. Therefore, prostate stones are often accompanied by recurrent urinary tract infections, and stones are the root cause of secondary urinary tract infections. On the other hand, prostate stones often contain a large number of bacteria. When prostate stones are crushed and cultured, a large number of bacteria can be seen growing. However, when prostate tissue is crushed and cultured, no bacteria grow. Therefore, prostate stones can often serve as infection cores, storing bacteria, while antibacterial antibiotics have difficulty entering the stones to take effect. Therefore, prostate stones are very likely to cause repeated urinary tract infections, and treatment is very difficult. |
