Hematuria is a change in urine color caused by various reasons. Hematuria is divided into submicroscopic hematuria and visible hematuria. Macroscopic hematuria will vary in color depending on the amount of bleeding. If the water content per liter of urine exceeds 1 ml, the urine will appear like meat washing water. When the bleeding is more severe, it may appear blood-like. Some men with hematuria actually have no abnormalities and no systemic symptoms. They only find submicroscopic hematuria during routine physical examinations. So what is the cause of hematuria in men? 1. Urinary tract diseases. Male hematuria may be related to urinary tract diseases, among which the more critical symptoms are acute and chronic glomerulonephritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, and urethritis. Hematuria caused by this type of urinary and reproductive system infection is usually accompanied by symptoms such as inability to hold urine, frequent urination, and painful urination. In addition, after the appearance of urinary and reproductive system stones, the stones may cut the urethral epithelial cells when moving, causing hematuria. Urinary and reproductive system stones are commonly found in the urethra, bladder, urethral orifice, and pelvis. Stones generally continue to cause severe pain. When the stones are large, they may also cause urinary tract obstruction and cause kidney function damage. 2. Systemic diseases. Male patients may also have hematuria when they have systemic diseases. Systemic diseases include exudative diseases, infectious diseases and endocrine metabolic diseases. Exudative diseases are typically allergic purpura, septicemia, and aplastic anemia, while infectious diseases include infectious bacterial endocarditis and scarlet fever. Endocrine metabolic diseases are mainly gouty kidney, hyperthyroidism and diabetic nephropathy. All of the above diseases can cause hematuria in patients. When hematuria occurs, the patient needs to rest in bed, avoid activities as much as possible, and actively treat the primary disease. If the hematuria is caused by stones, the patient can drink more water. A lot of drinking water can reduce the acid and salt crystals in the urine and accelerate the metabolism of small stones. If the hematuria is caused by nephritis, the patient who has already developed systemic edema should control the intake of drinking water and salt. If the patient also has a urinary and reproductive system infection, the patient can be injected with antibiotics under the specific guidance of a doctor. In addition, people with renal hematuria should pay attention to arranging their time reasonably and not be too tired. |
