Spending too much time alone with an unattainable woman can increase levels of the stress hormone paclitaxel, which has been linked to heart disease, a Spanish study suggests.

The researchers asked 84 male students to participate in the experiment. When the woman left and only two men were left sitting together in the room, the man who volunteered to participate in the experiment did not experience an increase in stress level; however, when the subject and the woman were alone in a room, his cortisol level increased. The results showed that compared with men who did not drink, men who drank 20 grams of different alcoholic beverages every day had a two-year longer life expectancy; and men who drank less than half a glass of wine a day had a two and a half year longer life expectancy than men who drank beer and other alcoholic beverages every day.

The ingredients in the grape skin of red wine can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and the purine (a substance that increases uric acid in the body) contained in red wine is lower than other wines. Red wine can also prevent arteriosclerosis and dementia.
