Kidney disease is a type of disease that originates in the kidneys or is secondary to lesions in other organs and affects the kidneys. It can be divided into three categories.

The first is primary kidney disease: acute glomerulonephritis, rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, latent glomerulonephritis, chronic glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and IGA nephropathy.

The second is secondary kidney disease: systemic lupus erythematosus nephritis, allergic purpura nephritis, diabetic nephropathy, hepatitis B nephropathy, rheumatoid arthritis nephropathy, and scleroderma nephropathy.

The third is renal insufficiency: acute renal insufficiency and chronic renal insufficiency.

Its clinical manifestations are mainly abnormal urine and some local kidney symptoms. If a man has the following twelve symptoms, he should be alert to the possibility of kidney disease and should go to the hospital as soon as possible to see a nephrologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Symptom 1: Fatigue and lack of energy.

When kidney function is poor, a lot of waste products are difficult to excrete through urine, which can cause feelings of lack of energy, fatigue, weakness, and other symptoms.

When the kidneys are diseased, nutrients such as protein leak out of the kidneys and are excreted through urine, which can also cause weakness. Some patients may think that it is due to overwork or other reasons, and ignore kidney problems.

Symptom 2: Nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite.

Losing appetite, feeling nauseous, or even vomiting are also common symptoms of kidney disease.

Some patients always go to the gastroenterology or hepatology department first to see if they have stomach or liver disease. When they find out they don’t have stomach or liver disease, they just leave it alone and forget to see a nephrologist, which delays their treatment.

Symptom three: Foamy urine.

There are many reasons why there is foam in the urine. If protein leaks from the kidneys into the urine, the urine will be foamy.

Symptom 4: Low back pain.

The kidneys are located on both sides of the spine in the waist, so when the kidneys are diseased, you will feel back pain.

Symptom 5: Excessive or infrequent urination.

A healthy person urinates about 4-6 times a day, with a urine volume of about 800-2000 ml. If the frequency of urination and urine volume are too much or too little, you should pay attention. It may be a symptom of kidney disease.

Symptom 6: Edema occurs.

Drinking too much water, sleeping too long, or being too obese may cause slight or transient edema in the eyelids, face, calves, etc. If this is not the case, you should suspect that there is a problem with your kidneys.

Symptom seven: Urine protein and occult blood in urine.

The presence of protein or occult blood in urine is an important indicator of kidney disease, which can be confirmed by a routine urine test. However, sometimes doctors who are not nephrologists will ignore this point, so it is recommended to consult a nephrologist.

Symptom 8: Anemia.

Patients with anemia often go to the hematology department for treatment. In fact, in addition to functions such as excreting waste, the kidneys also have endocrine functions and secrete hematopoietic hormones. When kidney function is damaged, anemia will also occur.

Symptom nine: Diabetes.

Diabetes can cause kidney disease, which is called diabetic nephropathy and is a complication of diabetes.

Diabetic nephropathy is divided into five stages. The treatment effect is better in the early stage. Once it is late, it will be difficult to treat and will develop into uremia. Therefore, diabetic patients must often see a nephrologist.

Symptom 10: High blood pressure.

High blood pressure can cause hypertensive nephropathy, also known as hypertensive kidney damage, so people with high blood pressure should pay more attention.

Of course, kidney disease can also lead to high blood pressure. If your blood pressure is high, you should be careful about whether you have kidney disease.
