What causes yellow sperm?

Sperm is an important component of fertilized eggs, and sperm is mainly secreted by the male body. However, for normal men, the color of sperm should be milky white. If sperm is other colors, it is likely that it is a symptom caused by problems in the reproductive system. So if a man's sperm is yellowish in color, what is the reason?

The color of semen of normal adult males is determined by the composition of semen, which is composed of sperm and seminal plasma. The number of sperm is only a small part of it, and more than 90% of it is seminal plasma. Seminal plasma is secreted by accessory glands such as the prostate, seminal vesicles, bulbourethral glands and urethral glands. The main components are water, including fat, protein particles, pigment particles, lecithin, enzymes, fructose, etc.

The semen of most people is off-white or slightly yellow. If you abstain from sex for a long time, the color will turn yellow due to changes in physical and chemical properties. These are normal colors. If the color turns yellow for a long time, it may indicate inflammation in the reproductive tract, which may be caused by prostatitis or seminal vesiculitis.

If the prostate is infected with inflammation, the semen will also be infected, so the color and characteristics of the semen can be changed. The yellow semen may be caused by it. Other symptoms of prostatitis include frequent urination, urgent urination, incomplete urination, constant urge to urinate, pain in the urethra, and occasional white liquid overflowing from the urethra, which brings inconvenience and pain to the patient's daily life and work.

Seminal vesiculitis often occurs at the same time as prostatitis, mainly due to retrograde infection. The pathogenic bacteria are Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic Streptococcus and Escherichia coli. They are divided into two types: acute and chronic seminal vesiculitis. Seminal vesiculitis is one of the common infectious diseases in men. The age of the disease is 20 to 40 years old. The main clinical manifestation is hematospermia, but there are two types: acute and chronic. The individual differences are large, and the clinical manifestations are different. Most clinical manifestations are lower abdominal pain, frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, hematospermia and other symptoms.

Whether it is prostatitis or spermatitis, if the sperm is yellow for a long time or has other abnormal colors, you should go to the hospital for a detailed sperm examination to determine the cause and receive treatment as soon as possible to avoid further aggravation of the disease.
