The glans is a relatively private part of the male body. In daily life, if you do not pay attention to the care of the glans or personal hygiene, it is often easy for the glans to suffer from some diseases. The more common disease is galactitis. When you suffer from galactitis, red spots of varying sizes will appear on the glans. Of course, there are many causes of galactitis. After suffering from the disease, the patient should go to the hospital for treatment in time. What is the reason for the red spot on the glans? The most common red spot on the glans is balanitis. Balanitis refers to inflammation of the inner plate of the foreskin and the glans. It is most common in male patients, especially those with prepuce and phimosis. Because when the foreskin is too long and phimosis occurs, the secretion of smegma in the foreskin cavity will increase. The accumulated smegma will irritate the foreskin and glans for a long time, which can lead to inflammation of the foreskin and glans. The most common red spot is candidal balanoposthitis, most of which have a history of unclean sexual intercourse. The penis, foreskin, and glans are slightly flushed, and there may be white secretions like tofu dregs in the inner plate of the foreskin and the coronal sulcus of the glans. There are light red papules of varying sizes on the glans, accompanied by local burning and itching. If the fossa navicularis is involved, frequent urination, urgency, and pain may occur. If the foreskin is too long, circumcision is recommended, which can be wiped with iodine tincture and potassium permanganate solution, once in the morning and once in the evening. Symptoms of phimosis 1. Acute superficial galactitis It is usually caused by friction of underwear, trauma, or local irritation from soap or detergent. It manifests as edema, erythema, exudation, erosion, secondary infection with purulent secretions, easy formation of ulcers, and spontaneous pain. 2. Annular erosive glans The lesions of the glans and foreskin are ring-shaped, or the rings have cheese-like smegma, which can easily break down into superficial ulcers over time. If the ring-shaped features are lost, it is difficult to distinguish from superficial glansitis. This disease can exist alone or as a mucosal symptom of Reiter syndrome. 3. Cytoplasmic balanitis It is more common in middle-aged people. It is a single or multiple chronic inflammations that last for a long time. The damage is plaque-like, with a smooth or scaly or moist surface, and the infiltration is more obvious. The boundary is clear and not easy to break. Small spots like paprika can be seen on the surface. The appearance is difficult to distinguish from the hyperplastic erythema of the glans penis. If similar damage occurs in the vulva, it is called plasmacytic vulvitis. 4. Mica and keratotic pseudoepitheliomatous glansitis The glans penis is damaged, infiltrated, hypertrophic, hyperkeratotic, and has mica-like crusts. The affected area loses its normal elasticity and atrophies over time. |
