Treatment and care of Candida albicans balanitis

Treatment and care of Candida albicans balanitis

We all know that the glans is an important part of the sexual organ. The glans is also called the glans penis, which refers to the spherical object at the front end of the penis. It is formed by the expansion of the front end of the urethral cavernous body. There is a urethral opening at the end of the front end, which is the common outlet for urine and semen. Candida albicans phimosis is caused by Candida infection. The clinical manifestations are erythema, smooth surface, a little desquamation around, and small papules or small pustules scattered around, which slowly expand to the surrounding area. In the acute stage, edema erythema, erosion, and exudate may occur. So how should Candida albicans phimosis be treated and protected? Let's take a look at it together.

1. Treatment

(1) Symptom treatment

Keep the area clean and avoid all kinds of stimulation. Those with prepuce that is too long should undergo circumcision.

(2) Local treatment

For those with erosive exudation or purulent secretions, apply wet compresses with 1% ethacridine solution or 1:8000 potassium permanganate solution. For those with dryness and desquamation, apply corticosteroid ointment externally.

(3) Etiological treatment

Those with clear etiology should be treated with corresponding drugs. For example, for candidal glansitis, topical nystatin cream, clotrimazole, econazole, miconazole cream, or oral antifungal drugs such as itraconazole, fluconazole, miconazole, and ketoconazole can be used. For trichomonal glansitis, metronidazole, tinidazole, and trichostatin can be used. For amebic glansitis, emetine, metronidazole, and tinidazole are given. If the spouse suffers from candidal vaginitis or trichomonal vaginitis at the same time, they must be treated at the same time.

2. Nursing

(1) Pay attention to local hygiene, clean the glans and foreskin every day. If the foreskin is too long, it should be treated in time, and circumcision should be performed if necessary. It is very necessary to clean the smegma in time. For those whose foreskin always covers the glans when the penis is not erect, they should exercise so that the glans is always exposed outside the foreskin. This is hygienic and less likely to cause glansitis. It can also exercise the glans's resistance to friction, reduce sensitivity, and effectively prevent premature ejaculation during sexual intercourse with women.

(2) If one of the spouses suffers from a sexual organ disease, they should suspend sexual activity and seek timely treatment. For example, if the spouse suffers from a trichomonas infection or Candida albicans infection, both spouses should receive treatment at the same time.

(3) Avoid unclean sexual intercourse and keep yourself clean.

(4) If ulcers or erosions occur, change the dressing immediately, twice a day, to avoid uncomfortable irritation.

(5) For acute balanitis, avoid using corticosteroid ointments to prevent more serious infection.
