Can one testicle produce a child?

The testicle is a relatively important reproductive organ for men. The testicle is the part that produces sperm and has a great impact on male fertility. If there is an abnormality in the health of the testicle, it will affect future fertility. Normally, men have two testicles, one testicle is relatively larger and the other testicle is relatively smaller, but some people only have one testicle. Men with one testicle will have an impact on fertility.

Can one testicle produce a child?

Men with only one testicle can conceive normally in most cases. As long as the testicle on this side functions normally, can produce normal sperm, can achieve normal erection, can achieve effective ejaculation after erection, and has sexual intercourse during the woman's ovulation period, the possibility of pregnancy is very high.

Only one normal sperm is needed to achieve pregnancy, so one testicle is not the reason for infertility. As long as the testicles are functioning normally, normal pregnancy is possible. First, the semen should be tested to assess the quality of the semen. If the semen quality is good, then pregnancy is normal. If the semen quality is poor, the cause of the poor semen quality should be found and then effective treatment should be carried out.

Testicles are very important, especially in the male body. Testicles have a spermatogenic function. Testicles are mainly composed of convoluted seminiferous tubules and interstitial cells. The epithelium of the convoluted seminiferous tubules is mainly composed of spermatogenic cells and supporting cells. The original spermatogenic cells are spermatogonia, which are attached to the basement membrane of the convoluted seminiferous tubules. When male puberty begins, spermatogonia will develop in stages to form sperm, and the process of sperm production is spermatogonia-primary spermatocyte-secondary spermatocyte-spermatocyte-sperm.

The testicles have many endocrine effects, and androgen is one of them. Testicular interstitial cells secrete androgens, mainly testosterone. Testosterone belongs to the c-19 steroid hormone. In the interstitial cells, cholesterol undergoes hydroxylation and side chain cleavage to form pregnenolone, which then undergoes 17-hydroxylation and removes the side chain to finally form testosterone. Testosterone can be converted into estradiol under the action of aromatase.

Testicles generally have two functions. Testicles mainly rely on a complex process to produce sperm, which is mainly delivered to the vagina by the sexual propulsion system. Another function of testicles is to produce testosterone, which is also the male hormone. Only with this hormone can the sexual function of male friends be brought into play. Only with testicles can the penis grow during puberty and pubic hair grow gradually. Without testicles or the hormones produced, there will be no sexual behavior.
