How long does it take for the nail to fall off after circumcision?

Circumcision is a minor surgery for the symptoms of excessive foreskin. It is best to choose a male before the age of 15, when the wound has a strong healing ability and is not prone to infection. For men who have undergone circumcision, the foreskin will generally fall off automatically within 2 to 4 weeks. If it does not fall off for a long time, you should go to the hospital for re-resection. Do not pull the foreskin off with your hands.

For patients who have undergone circumcision surgery with the assistance of a stapler, titanium nails can be seen on the foreskin skin, which serves to staple the inner and outer plates of the foreskin, similar to the effect of surgical sutures. However, titanium nails are better than surgical sutures because they have better tissue compatibility, will not cause suture reactions such as redness and swelling, and will not leave large scars, and the postoperative healing is more beautiful. Generally, titanium nails will fall off on their own within 2-4 weeks after the operation. Some patients will fall off earlier, but most of them will fall off completely in about two weeks. There are also a small number of patients whose nails have not fallen off after four weeks, and they need to go to the hospital to remove the titanium nails. Generally, titanium nails will fall off on their own after bathing or activities after the operation. However, sometimes during the nailing process, the titanium nails are embedded in the tissue and cannot be removed. The titanium nails can be touched by hand, but they cannot be seen by the naked eye. They need to be removed in the hospital. In most patients, the titanium nails are completely removed within 2-4 weeks.

Circumcision

An excessively long foreskin can allow dirt and bacteria to remain, leading to inflammation of the glans penis and disrupting the harmony of sexual life. Circumcision is required for treatment.

Circumcision refers to the removal of excess foreskin from the penis, exposing the glans penis that was originally covered by the foreskin. Circumcision is an effective treatment for phimosis, prepuce hyperplasia and its complications.

Technical principle

Traditional circumcision is performed under anesthesia by making a longitudinal incision on both sides of the dorsal side of the foreskin.

Starting from the incision and ending at the frenulum of the foreskin, the excess skin is removed in a circular shape, so that the foreskin that was originally too long to cover the penis can be restored to a normal length.

Adaptation

① Suitable for the following groups:

a. The foreskin is too long and the foreskin opening is small. Although it can be turned back, it is easy to cause foreskin incarceration.

b. Patients with prepuce that is too long and recurrent foreskin and glans inflammation, but the acute infection has been controlled.

c. Benign foreskin tumor.

② Taboo groups:

Patients who are suffering from foreskin or glans inflammation are not suitable for surgery at the moment and must wait until the inflammation subsides before undergoing surgery.

Advantages of circumcision

①Prevent the growth of smegma bacteria, eliminate the source of disease, prevent urinary tract inflammation, and reduce the incidence of balanitis and prostatitis;

② After the foreskin is removed, the glans penis is exposed, which increases daily friction, reduces the sensitivity of the glans penis, prevents premature ejaculation, and increases the duration of sexual intercourse;

③ After the operation, the glans penis is freed from the foreskin and the secondary development of the penis of young people is promoted;

④Prevent penile cancer. After circumcision, smegma will no longer be produced, thus cutting off the source of penile cancer stimulation;

⑤ Reduce HIV infection rate and the incidence of male infertility;

⑥Eliminate the adverse effects of phimosis and smegma on sexual partners, and reduce the incidence of gynecological inflammation and cervical cancer.
