The consequences of taking ethinyl estradiol for men

It is best for men not to take ethinyl stilbestrol, otherwise it will bring serious consequences to their bodies. Female friends should also not take this medicine, especially during pregnancy, because systemic use of this medicine can easily cause malformations in the fetus. Even when using the medicine vaginally, special attention should be paid and it should not be used lightly.

1. Do not use estrogen during pregnancy. Systemic use may cause fetal malformation, and vaginal use should also be used with caution. Female babies born after taking the drug have developed reproductive tract abnormalities, and in rare cases, vaginal cancer or cervical cancer has occurred during childbearing age.

2. Estrogen can enter the breast milk through the mammary gland and be excreted, and can inhibit lactation. It is prohibited for breastfeeding women.

3. The following situations should not be used: ① Known or suspected breast cancer, except when used to treat advanced metastatic breast cancer; ② Known or suspected estrogen-dependent tumors; ③ Acute thrombophlebitis or thromboembolism; ④ Past use of estrogen with a history of thrombophlebitis or thromboembolism, except when used to treat advanced breast cancer and prostate cancer; ⑤ History of cholestatic jaundice; ⑥ Undiagnosed irregular vaginal bleeding.

1. When used together with anticoagulants, estrogen can reduce the anticoagulant effect. If they must be used together, the dosage of the anticoagulant should be adjusted.

2. When used simultaneously with carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin sodium, pentazocine, rifampicin, etc., the effect of estrogen can be reduced. This is due to the induction of liver microsomal enzymes and the acceleration of estrogen metabolism.

3. When used simultaneously with tricyclic antidepressants, large amounts of estrogen can enhance the adverse reactions of antidepressants and reduce their effectiveness.

4. When used simultaneously with antihypertensive drugs, the antihypertensive effect may be reduced.

5. Reduce the therapeutic effect of tamoxifen.

Increases calcium absorption.

If pregnant women take this drug, the incidence of cervical and vaginal adenopathy and adenocarcinoma in their female offspring increases after puberty, and the incidence of reproductive tract abnormalities and sperm abnormalities in their male offspring also increases. For other symptoms, see estrogen. There may be nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, and headache. Long-term use can cause excessive proliferation of the endometrium, resulting in uterine bleeding and hypertrophy.
