Itching inside the foreskin

Itching inside the foreskin

If a man has an excessively long foreskin, it will not only damage his sexual function and shorten the duration of sex, but it will also cause dirt to accumulate in the penile area, making it likely to be infected with bacteria. Especially for men who do not pay attention to private hygiene, the possibility of developing male diseases such as glansitis is relatively high. Therefore, if you find redness or itching in your foreskin, you need to seek medical attention immediately to avoid further aggravation of the infection.

1. You may have foreskin that is too long or phimosis

The glans penis of a person with prepuce is usually always wrapped in the foreskin, and must be turned up by hand to expose it; even with the help of hands, the foreskin of a person with phimosis cannot be turned up to expose the glans penis. In this case, smegma is more likely to accumulate in the foreskin and is difficult to remove. Therefore, it is not surprising that patients with prepuce or phimosis often suffer from balanitis. If you suffer from prepuce or phimosis, you should go to a local regular hospital for circumcision in time. The operation is very simple, does not require hospitalization, and can be cured in about a week.

2. It may be due to not paying attention to external genital hygiene

The sebaceous glands of the foreskin of young men often secrete more vigorously. If you do not pay attention to regular cleaning of the external genitalia, or do not turn the foreskin up when cleaning, the secretions of the sebaceous glands of the foreskin will accumulate under the foreskin, forming smegma like tofu dregs. Smegma is a good culture medium for bacteria, and it is easy to induce dermatitis if it is not removed in time.

3. Injury caused by excessive masturbation

Young people have strong sexual desire and often masturbate. Sometimes masturbation is too rough, which can cause varying degrees of foreskin damage. Because of the high level of excitement during masturbation, the damage is relatively small and may not be noticed, but the wound on the foreskin is very susceptible to bacterial contamination, thus inducing balanitis.

How to cure balanitis

Balanitis is the most common disease of the glans foreskin. Almost all patients have phimosis or prepuce that is too long. Between the glans and the long foreskin, a warm and moist bacterial culture medium is formed due to the exfoliated epithelial cells, glandular secretions and smegma bacteria. Once the bacteria enter, it can cause inflammation.

There are two main reasons why balanitis cannot be cured: 1. It is easily neglected and untreated. Due to the high incidence of balanitis, the initial symptoms are mild and sometimes better and sometimes worse, so it is easy to be neglected in daily life until it becomes serious and is not treated. By the time of treatment, it is already accompanied by complications and comorbidities, which has caused great damage to the reproductive health system, so it must be checked and treated early.

2. Mistakenly thinking it is a STD and misdiagnosing it. When glansitis occurs, most patients think it is a STD and use disinfectant and anti-inflammatory cleaners on their own. This causes strong chemical stimulation to the local skin, resulting in redness and swelling, exudation, and aggravated inflammatory reactions, which may eventually lead to chronic glansitis. In addition, some doctors with poor diagnostic skills or intentionally treat it as a STD for profit reasons, causing great physical and financial harm to patients. So, how to cure glansitis?

Once balanitis is discovered, the foreskin can be turned over and soaked in 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution to clean the affected area, then apply antibiotic ointment and appropriate antibiotics. Most cases will be cured within a few days. If the condition is more serious, effective treatment should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor. There are mainly the following methods:

1. Antibiotics

Applicable to those with secondary infection.

2. Antifungal drugs

Suitable for candidal balanitis.

3. Glucocorticoids

Suitable for annular erosive balanitis.
