The primary neural mechanism of ejaculation is somatic innervation, but it also involves nerves and fibers from the autonomic nervous system in the vagina; the autonomic branches of the parasympathetic nervous system primarily control erectile function while the sympathetic and somatic branches primarily control emission and ejaculation.

The process of ejaculation during male sexual intercourse:

1. When a man is sexually aroused, the blood flow into the penis greatly exceeds the blood return from the penis, causing a large amount of blood to accumulate in the corpus cavernosum of the penis, increasing the pressure, and making the penis hard, erect, thicker, and longer.

2. The contraction of the muscle fibers in the scrotal wall causes the scrotum and the testicles inside to rise and become closer to the body. This is similar to the reaction of the scrotum when it is stimulated by cold.

3. The penis is inserted into the vagina slowly from shallow to deep. At this time, the embrace between the two becomes tighter. As the root of the penis goes deeper into the female body, the space between the two sexes is reduced to a minimum.

4. After the penis and vagina are in close contact and friction stimulation, sexual intercourse enters the continuous stage. The penis becomes further engorged and swollen, showing a dark red color, and the scrotum sticks closer to the body. The testicles also swell due to congestion of blood vessels. A small amount of mucus overflows from the urethra. Some people will have redness on the abdomen and chest.
