Breast cancer in boys

When we talk about breast cancer, the first thing that comes to mind is women. In clinical practice, due to the special characteristics of female breasts, the incidence of breast cancer is extremely high, and the ratio of men to women among patients is completely unbalanced. However, this does not mean that men have no chance of getting breast cancer. However, the reason why men get breast cancer is closely related to congenital factors, which are mostly familial, or there is a problem with the estrogen secretion of the body.

1. Familial

In reports on male breast cancer at home and abroad, a considerable proportion of the cases have a family history of female breast cancer or other tumors in the family, suggesting that male breast cancer has a certain familial nature.

2. Endogenous

Compared with female breast cancer, male breasts have no physiological activity and lack excessive stimulation of ovarian hormones. However, most patients have male breast development, endocrine abnormalities, and liver damage.

3. Sex chromosome abnormalities

Other studies have shown that some patients have small testicles, fibrosis and hyalinization of the seminiferous tubules. Increased pituitary gonadotropin in urine and abnormal sex chromosomes are called Klinefelter syndrome. In this case, the incidence of breast cancer is 20 times higher than that of normal men.

4. Others

Exposure to radioactive substances, local breast damage, and the use of estrogen in clinical treatment can also induce breast cancer.
