It is a minor surgery to treat phimosis. The operation takes about 20 to 30 minutes and generally does not require hospitalization. The risk of the operation is relatively low.

There are many methods of circumcision, the most commonly used is the method of circumcision of the inner and outer layers of the foreskin at once, followed by the method of circumcision of the inner and outer layers separately. It is an open surgery, the purpose of which is to completely expose the glans penis through surgery, so that there will be no dead corners that may cause infection.

Adaptation

1. Children with phimosis have difficulty urinating or suffer from repeated infections due to the narrow foreskin opening.

2. Adults with phimosis or prepuce that is too long and have recurrent infections.

It is normal for children to have a long foreskin. If there are no complications, circumcision should not be performed on infants or children with a long foreskin. This is because the foreskin of children under 3 years old will disappear on their own as they grow older. For some children, as long as the foreskin is repeatedly retracted upwards to expand the foreskin sac, the glans penis will be exposed, and there is no need for surgical removal.

Incompatibility

Patients who are suffering from foreskin or glans inflammation are not suitable for surgery at the moment and must wait until the inflammation subsides before undergoing surgery.

Preoperative preparation

1. The night before and on the day of surgery, instruct the patient to clean the area. Clean the genitals: Starting from 3 days before surgery, the genitals should be washed with warm water or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution every day. When washing, the foreskin should be turned over to expose the coronal sulcus and thoroughly remove the smegma. However, it should be noted that the foreskin should be restored in time after washing to avoid penile prepuce incarceration.

2. Patients with concurrent foreskin and glans inflammation need to use medication and local immersion treatment, and surgery can be performed after the inflammation subsides.

3. Eliminate tension: Since the wound will be a little uncomfortable in the first few days after the operation, some people worry that the operation will affect their sexual function. This idea is unnecessary. Generally speaking, circumcision will not affect normal sexual function. On the contrary, if you carry a mental burden, it may cause mental sexual dysfunction.

4. It is best to fast for 4-6 hours before circumcision surgery, otherwise it will cause discomfort
