1. Drug therapy

Topical medications containing corticosteroids are definitely effective in treating eczema, and can be used for mild or small-scale eczema. For large-area eczema or recurring eczema, frequent, large-scale, or long-term use of corticosteroids can cause systemic or local side effects. Not to mention the systemic side effects, the local side effects on the skin remind us to choose carefully.

External treatment prescription

In addition to taking internal medicine (food) for eczema, the therapeutic effect will be better if it is combined with external herbal treatments.

External treatment:

(1) Lithospermum officinale oil: 9 grams of lithospermum officinale, deep-fry with an appropriate amount of sesame oil until it is charred. When the oil turns purple, remove the lithospermum officinale and apply the oil to the affected area several times a day.

(2) Eggs with oil: Boil 7 eggs and take out the egg yolks. Put 50-100 grams of sesame oil in a pot and simmer until the oil in the egg yolks is charred. Apply the oil to the affected area frequently.

(3) Grind an appropriate amount of squid bone into fine powder and apply it to the eczema area several times a day. It is suitable for those with exudation.

Diet therapy

1) Barley and red bean decoction: 30g barley, 15g red beans, add water and cook until the beans are rotten, add sugar as needed, take in the morning and evening.

2) Decoction of Horsetooth Amaranthus: 30-60g of fresh Horsetooth Amaranthus, decocted in water, taken several times a day, and can be used for external washing.

3) Winter melon soup: 250g winter melon with skin, cut into pieces and cook into soup.

4) Cucumber decoction: Add 30 grams of cucumber peel to water and boil for 3 minutes. Add appropriate amount of sugar and take 3 times a day in divided doses.

5) Mung bean and kelp porridge: 30g mung bean, 50g soaked kelp, some brown sugar, some glutinous rice. Boil the mung bean and glutinous rice into porridge, add the chopped kelp, cook for another 3 minutes and add the brown sugar.
