Removal of stitches after circumcision surgery

Removal of stitches after circumcision surgery

The stitches must be removed after about a week of recovery from circumcision surgery. This step is also very critical. After the stitches are removed, the wound will gradually begin to heal. During this period, you should ensure that your wound will not have any bacterial infection. You must have a comprehensive understanding of post-operative recovery and do not touch your reproductive organs with your hands to avoid secondary infection.

After circumcision, good care can avoid postoperative infection and help the wound heal faster. Some male friends don't know how to take care of themselves after circumcision. In fact, everyone should have a comprehensive understanding of postoperative care. So how to take care of yourself after circumcision? To ensure the effect of the surgery, postoperative care is an essential step.

1. Avoid strenuous activities and riding movements (such as cycling, horse riding, etc.), and rest more.

2. Drink less water before going to bed and at night, do not hold urine, and prevent erection. If you have an erection, you can get out of bed and move around, urinate, and relieve tension.

3. Follow the doctor's instructions for bathing after surgery, try to avoid collision with the genitals, do not wet the wound dressing, and protect the wound.

4. Do not have sexual intercourse within one month after stitches are removed.

5. Keep the incision gauze dry. If it falls off or gets wet with urine, replace it immediately to prevent infection.

6. Do not wear tight underwear, and do not watch stimulating television or read books.

7. Pay attention to diet and sleeping position, avoid spicy food, and sleep in a supine or side-lying position at night to avoid compressing the genitals.

1. Bleeding:

It is usually caused by incomplete hemostasis during surgery or loose ligature. The most common bleeding sites are the superficial dorsal vein of the penis and the frenulum of the prepuce. Bleeding from the superficial dorsal vein of the penis is prone to hematoma, and bleeding from the frenulum of the prepuce often results in blood flowing out of the wound, and may also form hematoma under the skin. If this symptom occurs, you should seek medical attention immediately.

2. Infection:

Failure to effectively control inflammation of the foreskin and glans penis before surgery, mistaken circumcision for those with incarcerated foreskin, lack of attention to aseptic operation or rough surgical operation, and urine contamination of the wound after surgery can all lead to wound infection. After infection occurs, some sutures should be removed to allow drainage, bed rest, and medication should be applied.

3. Edema of frenulum:

Too much skin is left at the frenulum, the bandage is too tight, standing or walking for too long on the day after the operation, etc. If edema of the frenulum occurs, the bandage should be loosened, the glans penis should be moved to the side of the abdomen, supported with a "T" belt, and drugs should be used to prevent infection, as well as physical therapy.

4. Improper circumcision:

If the foreskin is removed too much, it will affect the erection of the penis after the operation. In severe cases, skin grafting can be performed to correct it. If the foreskin is removed too little, the foreskin will still cover the glans penis after the operation. If the foreskin is turned upward without any difficulty, it can be turned over and cleaned frequently. If it is still not turned over satisfactorily or the infection still occurs repeatedly, circumcision can be performed again.
