How to use anesthesia for circumcision

How to use anesthesia for circumcision

Circumcision is actually a relatively minor surgery, so most male friends need to undergo this surgery when they reach a certain age. This will allow their foreskin to grow and develop more healthily and prevent their reproductive organs from becoming deformed. However, anesthesia is required during circumcision, which is very important. Most people choose local anesthesia for treatment.

Preparation 1: Inspection.

Go to a regular hospital's urology department to see if surgery is needed. Generally speaking, surgery is needed for those with phimosis (foreskin cannot be turned up), tight foreskin, recurrent balanitis, or those who have difficulty in having sex. For children, it is better to have surgery when they are around 10 years old.

Preparation 2: Choose the surgical method.

Currently, the most commonly used circumcision is still circumcision, including laser or traditional surgical methods.

Preparation 3: Make an appointment for surgery and tests.

Circumcision surgery in general hospitals needs to be booked 2 to 4 weeks in advance, and should be decided according to your own schedule. Most hospitals require infection screening and blood and urine routine tests before surgery.

Preparation 4: Prepare the skin.

Shave the pubic hair on your penis and scrotum and take a shower the day before the surgery.

Preparation 5: Psychological preparation.

Circumcision is usually an outpatient surgery with few complications, and the patient can return to work in about a week.

Preparation six: Transportation.

It is best to take a car or taxi and avoid riding a bicycle or driving.

Preparation 7:

After the operation, take medicine on time and return for follow-up to observe the healing of the wound.

Postoperative precautions

1. It is best to rest for 1-2 days after the operation. You can rest in bed, surf the Internet or read books, etc. Try to move less to prevent postoperative bleeding.

2. Try to avoid thinking about or touching pornography, Internet pictures and videos after the operation. This is because contact with these things will cause the penis to become erect, which can easily cause postoperative bleeding.

3. Generally, it should be changed every 3 days. After about three days, normal activities will generally be fine.

4. In addition to antibiotics, you should also take medications to prevent erection and relieve pain after surgery.

5. You may experience some discomfort in the glans penis after the operation, which is normal. Generally, this feeling will gradually disappear after about a week.

6. The operation takes about 15 to 25 minutes and does not require hospitalization.

7. There will be slight pain and bruising at the wound after the operation. You should take painkillers regularly. It will heal in about 7 to 10 days.

8. Before the wound heals, you should return for regular follow-up examinations.

9. The wound should be kept clean and dry after the operation, and be careful not to wet the gauze when urinating.

10. The wound is sutured with absorbable sutures, so there is no need to remove the sutures.

11. If the penis is erect, please protect the wound with one hand and pinch the glans with the other hand to allow the penis to retract naturally to avoid the wound from splitting.

12. If the wound is swollen, painful and bleeding, you can apply local cold compress and pressure to stop the bleeding; if the bleeding is severe, you should return to the hospital for treatment immediately.

13. Prepare a few extra pairs of underwear for replacement (or buy disposable underwear), because tissue fluid may seep out and dirty the underwear during the recovery period.
