Anti-sperm antibody therapy for men

Anti-sperm antibody therapy for men

Male antisperm antibodies are a relatively common phenomenon. If antisperm antibodies are positive during the examination, it will often lead to male infertility, often manifested as decreased sperm quality, substandard sperm motility, etc. In this case, good treatment should be carried out in time, such as isolation treatment, immunosuppressive treatment, etc. It can also be treated through the method of traditional Chinese medicine differentiation.

Anti-sperm antibody therapy for men

1. Isolation therapy: Use condoms during sexual intercourse to prevent semen from contacting the female reproductive tract and producing no new anti-sperm antibodies. As a result, the anti-sperm antibodies in the body are gradually excreted and the concentration decreases, which will no longer cause sperm inhibition and agglutination, thus achieving the treatment goal.

2. Immunosuppressive therapy: Adrenal cortex hormone drugs can be used to treat immune infertility, with a pregnancy rate between 20% and 45%.

3. TCM Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment: TCM believes that the cause of immune infertility is the weakness of the body's vital energy, mainly liver and kidney yin deficiency or spleen and kidney yang deficiency. Therefore, the treatment of immune infertility should focus on kidney deficiency and imbalance of yin, yang, qi and blood as the main pathogenesis. TCM can improve the weakened immune function and eliminate harmful autoimmune reactions and avoid side effects by strengthening the body's vital energy and eliminating evil to regulate immune function.

What is the normal sperm survival rate?

Sperm motility refers to the ability or intensity of sperm activity. Active sperm is the most basic condition for penetrating cervical mucus, entering the fallopian tube and combining with the egg cell, so it is one of the contents of routine semen analysis. Under a microscope, the intensity of sperm activity is divided into three levels: in-situ activity is level 1, curved movement is level 2, and fast straight line movement is level 3. Level 3 indicates the strongest activity. For normal fertility, the number of active sperm should be above 70%. If the number of active sperm is less than 50%, it is abnormal. If the sperm is completely inactive, it is dead sperm.

Generally, it is divided into 5 levels: level 0 means that the sperm cannot move; level 1 means that the sperm has poor motility and only moves in place; level 2 means that the sperm has average motility and only moves forward in a curved line; level 3 means that the sperm has good motility and moves forward in a straight line; level 4 means that the sperm has excellent motility and moves forward in a fast straight line. Normally, the sum of level 3 and level 4 should exceed 50%, and at least 25% of the active sperm move in a fast straight line. If the sperm of levels 0, 1, and 2 exceed 50%, and the sperm of level 4 is less than 25%, the sperm has low motility.

① Mild low sperm motility means that the A and B grade sperm are less than 50% but greater than 30% or the A grade sperm are less than 25% but greater than 10%.

② Moderately low sperm motility means that the proportion of grade A and grade B sperm is less than 50%, but greater than 30%, of which grade A sperm is less than 10%.

③ Severe low sperm motility means that the number of grade B and C sperm is less than 30%, and there is no grade A sperm. When sperm motility is low, sperm cannot move forward and it is difficult for them to pass through the cervical canal and uterine cavity to reach the fallopian tube and combine with the egg, thus causing low male fertility or even infertility.
