What are the symptoms of bacterial balanitis?

For men, they should strengthen the care of the penis, especially the glans. The skin of the glans is very delicate. If it is not properly cared for, it may lead to some diseases. The most common one is bacterial galactitis. There are many types of bacteria, and there are many symptoms that cause galactitis, such as fungal galactitis, candidal galactitis, etc. Let's take a look at this aspect.

Symptoms of glansitis

1. Fungal glansitis

Fungal balanoposthitis is usually contaminated through unclean sexual intercourse, so it is classified as a sexually transmitted disease. It can also be transmitted through public baths, swimming pools, bath towels, clothing, medical equipment, dressings, etc. that are contaminated with Candida, or through long-term and large-scale use of broad-spectrum antibiotics, which leads to dysbiosis and infection (because it is a conditional pathogen).

2. Candidal balanitis

Caused by Candida (a type of mold), it can be primary or secondary. Secondary vaginitis usually occurs in patients with diabetes or after long-term use of antibiotics or corticosteroids. The disease can be transmitted through sexual intercourse, and the patient's spouse may have candidal vaginitis. The skin lesions are mainly erythematous, with a smooth surface and mildly scaly edges. There are papules or papulorum around the erythema. Sometimes there is erosion, with white dot-like cheese-like secretions attached to the surface. There is a peculiar smell and itching. Candida can be seen in the secretions through fungal microscopy and culture.

3. Fungal glansitis

Fungal glansitis is more common in young people between the ages of 20 and 50. Due to the vigorous secretion of sebaceous glands in young people, the vulva is moist, and wearing thicker underwear or insufficient cleaning of the vulva can easily cause fungi scattered in the air or parasitic here to take root and sprout, causing trouble and possibly passing it on to the spouse. Many young and middle-aged women often wash their vaginas due to changes in their own physical constitution, taking antibiotics and other drugs, or excessive cleanliness, causing changes in the acid-base environment in the vagina, causing the parasitic bacteria that normally restrain each other to be out of balance, and the fungi (molds) parasitic here take advantage of the opportunity to enter, causing inflammation of the patient's vulva and vagina. After sex, it is very likely to be passed on to the spouse, causing fungal glansitis.

4. Trichomonas glansitis

In male patients with urethral trichomonas, there is a history of sexual intercourse with women with trichomonas. The symptoms of trichomonas glansitis are usually mild, or even asymptomatic. The main clinical manifestations of trichomonas glansitis are urethral itching and discomfort of varying degrees. Frequent urination worsens the symptoms.

Dangers of glansitis

1. Harm to reproductive system health

Balanitis can easily lead to inflammation of reproductive organs such as prostatitis, orchitis, epididymitis, and vas deferens. If not treated promptly and effectively, combined infections will cause great harm to reproductive health.

2. Cause female infertility

Because the inflammatory secretions hidden in the foreskin enter the vagina together with semen during sexual intercourse, it reduces the quality of semen and destroys sperm and egg cells, leading to female infertility.

3. Cause sexual dysfunction

During the inflammation period of the foreskin and glans, the sensual nerves of the glans are damaged by the inflammation, making men prone to premature ejaculation during sexual intercourse, which in turn leads to impotence.

4. Leading to dry obstructive glansitis

It is a relatively serious pathological injury of balanitis, which not only destroys the normal physiological structure and beauty of the foreskin and glans, but also seriously affects the quality of sexual life of couples.

5. Cause urinary system diseases

Balanitis can also easily cause ascending infection of the urinary system, which is common in cystitis, nephritis, pyelonephritis, etc. Improper treatment of acute onset can lead to uremia and endanger life. If balanitis occurs, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment in time.
