What is the matter with a pain in the testicles?

1. Testicular pain can alert you to orchitis

Orchitis is a common cause of testicular pain. There are many causes of orchitis. For example, patients with mumps and influenza may have orchitis, testicular pain and swelling. In addition, chronic prostatitis can also cause testicular pain, which is mainly manifested as unilateral pain, often dull pain or extension pain, which is persistent. Optical microscopic examination of semen can show a large number of white blood cells. Patients are mostly young men.

Treatment of orchitis: The standard treatment for the disease is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It requires bed rest, scrotal support, partial heat compress, acupuncture and physiotherapy, 1% lidocaine closed injection to relieve pain, and cysts should be cut and drained. The efficacy evaluation of orchitis patients is that they can be cured, and the symptoms have subsided, the white blood cells are normal, the male testicles are not contracted, there is no hydrocele, the symptoms have improved, the male testicles are slightly larger, there is tenderness, the clinical symptoms have not improved, the testicles are swollen or contracted, or male testicular cysts and hydrocele have occurred.

2. Testicular pain can alert you to testicular damage

The scrotum is soft and flexible, and the testicles are very active, but the scrotum contents are fragile and have a weak ability to resist damage. Therefore, injuries to the scrotum and its contents are common in clinical medicine. They usually occur in young men. Damage to the testicles, tunica vaginalis, spermatic cord and scrotum wall often occurs at the same time. The common cause of disability is some kind of immediate violent injury.

Treatment of testicular injury: During the entire treatment process of testicular injury, the male testicles should be preserved as much as possible. Those with more serious injuries and shock should receive anti-shock treatment.

Trauma: Clean the wound, remove necrotic tissue, repair and suture, preserve the male testicular tissue as much as possible to maintain male function, completely eliminate abscesses if there are any, prevent infection caused by abscesses, and do not need to remove the testicle when unilateral testicle is damaged and the male testicular aorta is not damaged. If the male testicle has been severed, consider transplanting the male testicle origin or disordered transplantation. If the scrotal injury is more serious, perform scrotal repair surgery to encapsulate the male testicle.

Injury: If there is abscess, apply ice immediately to reduce bleeding. Hold the testicles up and immobilize them to relieve pain. If the abscess cannot be absorbed, the drainage method should be cut. If the testicles are enlarged and painful, a small amount of white membrane can be cut to relieve the testicular air pressure, but be careful of the occurrence of vas hernia.

Dislocation and twisting: The testicles should be repositioned and fixed as soon as possible. In addition to fixing the testicles, the spermatozoa should also be properly fixed to prevent dislocation or twisting again. If treatment is delayed and the testicles are necrotic, the only option is to remove the testicles to prevent infection in the scrotum.

3. Testicular pain is a warning sign for testicular torsion

The male testicles are located in the scrotum, one on each side. Normal male testicles are connected to the scrotum by a small tendon at the root. When the connection is loose, testicular torsion will occur. Once torsion occurs, normal blood supply will be affected.

Testicular torsion treatment: If testicular torsion occurs, the best treatment is surgical treatment. Surgical methods include surgical reduction and technical reduction.

After the diagnosis of testicular torsion is confirmed, surgical treatment should be performed immediately, and it is best to perform surgical treatment within 6 hours of the onset of symptoms. After the twisted testicle is restored, the blood circulation is observed to be normal. Then the testicle, spermatic curve and scrotal lining are sutured and fixed to prevent postoperative seizures. If the testicular blood circulation is abnormal during the operation and it cannot be restored after restoration, the testicle should be removed.
