Not many people really understand testicular cancer and always think it is a disease that is impossible to occur. However, according to relevant data, more and more male friends have been suffering from this disease in recent years, mainly concentrated in male friends aged 35-50. Patients will experience symptoms such as testicular swelling and pain, decreased semen volume, etc. If not treated in time, back and chest pain, coughing up blood, etc. may also occur. 1. Populations at high risk Testicular cancer is common in men aged 15-35. The incidence varies greatly around the world, with higher rates seen in many European countries and lower rates in the Far East, including China. The incidence is 6 per 100,000 men per year, but the incidence is increasing year by year. Occult testicles and viral infections are risk factors for testicular cancer. 2. Disease symptoms Most patients with testicular cancer present with testicular swelling. Associated symptoms include heaviness or pain. Severe pain is rare. Because testicular cancer often causes a decrease in sperm count, patients occasionally present with infertility. About 25% of patients present with symptoms caused by metastasis. Clinical manifestations of metastasis include back pain, shortness of breath, chest pain, or coughing up blood. 3. Disease Hazards Testicular cancer occurs in young men and although the cure rate is high, it has a great impact on society and family. The treatment of testicular tumors requires the removal of the affected testicle. Subsequent treatments such as retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, radiotherapy or chemotherapy will bring corresponding adverse reactions and may affect the patient's reproductive function. For example, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection may lead to ejaculation disorders and intestinal adhesions, and chemotherapy may cause pulmonary fibrosis. In general, chemotherapy and radiotherapy can reduce fertility by about 30%, among which radiotherapy has the greatest impact. In addition, a small number (about 2-3%) of testicular cancer patients have bilateral lesions. |
