What to do if the right testicle is not fully descended

The testicle is a male-specific reproductive organ and the main site for male hormone secretion. The health of the testicle is directly related to the harmony of the male family. Testicles can also be underdeveloped. For example, incomplete descent of the right testicle is common in children and requires active correction. So, what should we do if the right testicle is incompletely descended?

Incomplete testicular descent refers to the obstruction of testicular descent, which means that the testicles are stuck in the descent process and fail to enter the scrotum. It is also commonly called cryptorchidism in clinical practice. Cryptorchidism is a congenital disease. The occurrence of cryptorchidism is related to hormone levels, testicular fascia and short spermatic cord. Cryptorchidism often occurs on one side, and the incidence of bilateral cryptorchidism is about 10-25%. Cryptorchidism is often accompanied by inguinal oblique hernia. Cryptorchidism that stays in the abdominal cavity or inguinal area has a higher temperature than the scrotum. The testicles are in this environment for a long time, which leads to poor development and degeneration of the seminiferous tubules, causing spermatogenesis dysfunction. Over time, cryptic testicles may develop into testicular tumors during puberty, so cryptic testicles should be treated early and retracted into the scrotum to avoid complications.

1. Cryptid testis should be treated and repositioned before the age of 2, and no later than 5-6 years old. If the age is too old, there is no need to continue with the correction surgery. If the age is young, correction can be performed during the development period to achieve a perfect postoperative recovery effect.

2. For patients with bilateral cryptic testis, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) or gonadotropin-releasing hormone (LHRH) treatment should be applied before surgery to promote the descent of cryptic testis.

3. Treat inguinal oblique hernia while performing secret testicular release and fixation.

4. If the testicle is found to be underdeveloped or suspected of malignancy, or if an adult has unilateral cryptic testis, surgical removal is recommended.
