The reasons for low testosterone in men, let you know the truth!

Many people may not know what testosterone is. In fact, it is what we often hear about, testosterone, a hormone in the male body. This thing is very important to men. Some men have low testosterone levels and will develop a series of diseases. So what are the causes of low testosterone?

1. Testosterone, also known as testosterone, is a steroid hormone secreted by the male testicles or female ovaries. The adrenal glands also secrete a small amount of testosterone. It has the functions of maintaining muscle strength and quality, maintaining bone density and strength, refreshing and improving physical fitness.

Second, to determine the exact cause, it is also necessary to check the two gonadotropins secreted by the pituitary gland, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). If both FSH and LH are low, it indicates that low testosterone is caused by pituitary disease, and further examination should be conducted to see if there is organic lesion or damage to the pituitary gland or hypothalamus. Patients with such conditions can be treated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone or chorionic gonadotropin, which may have a certain effect. If both FSH and LH are elevated, it indicates that the disease of the testicles themselves is the cause. In such cases, only testosterone can be used for treatment.

3. The pituitary gland also secretes a hormone called prolactin (PRL). In the past, it was believed that prolactin only promoted breast development and milk secretion in women. Now it has been shown that men also have prolactin in their bodies, and its increase can inhibit the production of testosterone, leading to decreased sexual function and impotence. If this happens, further examination should be conducted to determine whether there is a pituitary adenoma in the body.

4. The impact of low testosterone in men is: low testosterone will affect the quality of male sperm, leading to a decrease in sperm count, resulting in oligospermia, and in severe cases it will lead to azoospermia, resulting in a decrease in sperm motility, resulting in asthenospermia. Oligospermia, asthenospermia, azoospermia, etc. will affect normal fertility, and in severe cases will lead to infertility.
