Self-treatment of social phobia, four ways to get rid of social phobia

Social phobia is a common mental illness nowadays. It can affect young people, children and adolescents. Long-term fear of socializing can easily lead to anxiety or depression. In fact, there are many ways to treat social phobia. The following four self-treatment methods can help you get rid of social phobia.

1. Reconfirm:

The first and most important step is to learn to "recognize" the thoughts and actions that cause fear. Everyday awareness is almost automatic and superficial. "Full-hearted awareness" is deeper, more careful, and can only be achieved through focused effort. The goal is to control your reaction to fear symptoms, not to control compulsive thoughts or impulses. You may not want to do this step at all, but you must work hard and be fully aware in order to understand that the current distress comes from compulsive thoughts or behaviors.

Second, attribution:

Psychotherapy. Patients should eliminate inferiority complex, have a correct understanding of themselves, and build self-confidence. You can suggest to yourself; I am just a member of the group, no one will specifically stare at me, pay attention to me alone, and get rid of the way of thinking that over-considers other people's evaluations. Remember: I am no worse than others, and others are no different, so as to enhance self-confidence. Say to yourself: "This is not me, it is fear at work! This is what we call "shifting gears": doing other behaviors! If you try to get rid of forced thinking, it will only increase stress and trouble, and stress will make fear more serious.

3. Shift your attention:

What you need to do at this step is: you have to change gears yourself! You use your hard work and concentration to do the natural and easy work of your brain.

4. Improve your character:

People who are afraid of socializing are usually introverts. They should pay attention to training their character. They should participate in more group activities such as sports and arts, and try to actively interact with peers and strangers. In the actual process of interaction, they can gradually get rid of shyness and fear, and become cheerful, optimistic, and open-minded.
