What causes men's small testicles? Three major factors

Generally speaking, normally developed male testicles are relatively "large", although not as big as eggs, at least the size of a "ping-pong ball". However, in real life, some men seem to have very small testicles. Why is this? According to experts, there may be three reasons.

1. Hydrocele:

Some people also mistake other diseases in the scrotum for one testicle being larger than the other. For example, hydrocele is actually just a water bag around the testicle that wraps the testicle, not the enlargement of the testicle itself. Some people also mistake inguinal oblique hernia, varicocele, epididymal tuberculosis, epididymitis, etc. for enlarged testicles, because these diseases sometimes also manifest as one side of the scrotum being larger than the other side.

2. Testicular damage:

Traumatic injury to one side of the testicle can cause bleeding and hematoma in the testicle, which results in insufficient blood supply to the testicle, which gradually shrinks and becomes significantly smaller than the other side. The mumps virus can damage the epithelial cells of the seminiferous tubules in the testicle, which is also one of the important reasons for one testicle being larger than the other.

3. Congenital testicular dysplasia:

This is caused by a disease called Klinefelter syndrome, which affects about one in 400 male babies. Most patients with this condition experience delayed puberty, which means that after the age of 14, the testicles are still the size of a child, and the male secondary sexual characteristics are not obvious. 80% of patients may have feminine manifestations such as breast enlargement. The intellectual development of these patients may be normal or slightly delayed. Since the testicles can still secrete a certain amount of male hormones, they can still have sexual desire and sexual function, and can also have normal ejaculation, but the function of the testicles to produce sperm is impaired, and there are no sperm or very few sperm in the semen, thus losing reproductive ability.
