The level of blood pressure is actually closely related to our health in our lives. Therefore, in life, some people often measure their blood pressure to understand their health status. So, how to measure blood pressure? (1) Choose an appropriate blood pressure monitor: The most commonly used is the mercury sphygmomanometer, barometer sphygmomanometer and electronic sphygmomanometer are also commonly used. The cuff width of the sphygmomanometer should cover 2/3 of the length of the upper arm, and the cuff length should reach 2/3 of the circumference of the upper arm. If the cuff is too narrow, the measured blood pressure value will be too high, and if the cuff is too long, the measured blood pressure value will be too low. (2) Choose a suitable pressure measurement environment: Patients should rest for 5-10 minutes in a quiet environment with appropriate temperature. Sleeves and arms should not be restricted excessively. Blood pressure measurement should be avoided under stressful conditions such as bladder distension, smoking, cold, or drinking coffee. (3) Choose the correct pressure measurement procedure: The patient sits down, the upper arm to be tested should be exposed, the palm is stretched upward, the elbow is at the level of the heart, the upper arm and the body are at a 45-degree angle, the distance between the lower edge of the cuff and the front of the elbow is 2-3 cm, and the pressure is increased by 4.0 kPa (30 mmHg) after the pulsation disappears. This is the maximum inflation level. If the pressure is too high, the systolic pressure will be too high. If the inflation reaches 40.0 kPa (300 mmHg), it will cause "airbag inflation hypertension". Then gradually deflate at a speed of 0.27 kPa (2 mmHg)/s. The first auscultatory sound is the systolic pressure, and the diastolic pressure is when the pulsating sound disappears (the blood pressure reading in the old system should be accurate to 2 mmHg). The inflation time should not be too long, otherwise it will easily create the illusion of increased blood pressure. When measuring upper limb blood pressure, the lower edge of the cuff should be 2~3cm away from the elbow; when measuring lower limb blood pressure, the lower edge of the cuff should be 3~5cm away from the popliteal fossa, and the chest piece of the stethoscope cannot be stuffed into the cuff. During the second measurement, the lower edge of the cuff went over the elbow. The cuff was wrapped too low when measuring blood pressure, and the measured blood pressure value was too low. Used for hyperactivity of liver yang, high blood pressure, dizziness, insomnia and forgetfulness. |
