We live in this diverse society and discover many different things every day. So what is male inguinal hernia in life? What is an inguinal hernia? Inguinal hernia refers to the protrusion of abdominal organs through the defect of the inguinal groove to the body surface, commonly known as "hernia". Inguinal hernia is divided into oblique hernia and direct hernia. The incidence of inguinal oblique hernia accounts for the vast majority. What is the difference between direct inguinal hernia and indirect inguinal hernia? The difference between direct inguinal hernia and indirect inguinal hernia: indirect hernia is a herniation from the internal ring opening, accompanied by the descending spermatic cord. The hernial sac is located deep in the levator testis muscle. When the hernial sac is large, it will fall into the scrotum; direct hernia is a herniation that directly protrudes from the transverse abdominal fascia of the Heinrich's triangle and generally does not fall into the scrotum. The two are anatomically separated by the inferior epigastric vessels, with the outer side being the indirect hernia and the inner side being the direct hernia. What causes hernia? 1. Decreased abdominal wall strength There are many potential factors that may cause decreased abdominal wall strength. The most common factors are: ① Certain tissues pass through the abdominal wall, such as the spermatic cord or ligamentum corpus uteri passing through the inguinal canal, the femoral artery and vein passing through the femoral canal, and the umbilical blood vessels passing through the umbilical ring; ②The linea alba can also become a weak point of the abdominal wall due to incomplete development; ③Poor surgical wound healing, trauma, infection, abdominal wall nerve damage, old age, long-term illness, muscle atrophy caused by obesity, etc. are also often the reasons for the reduction of abdominal wall strength. Biological studies have found that in patients with inguinal hernia, collagen metabolism in the aponeurosis is disordered, the content of its main amino acid component, hydroxyproline, is reduced, the fibroblasts in the anterior sheath of the rectus abdominis muscle proliferate abnormally, and the ultrastructure contains irregular microfibers, thus affecting the strength of the abdominal wall. 2. Increased intra-abdominal pressure Chronic cough, chronic constipation, dysuria (such as phimosis, bladder stones), ascites, pregnancy, weight lifting, and frequent crying babies are common causes of increased intra-abdominal pressure. Although normal people may have increased intra-abdominal pressure, hernia will not occur if the abdominal wall strength is normal. |
