Rheumatoid arthritis is common, but do you really know what it is?

There are many rheumatoid arthritis patients around us. Careful observation will reveal that once you have the disease, some joints such as finger joints or shoulder joints will become deformed, which makes treatment very difficult. However, some netizens still don't know much about this disease. What is rheumatoid arthritis?

Common diseases with unknown causes

Rheumatoid arthritis is one of the common diseases. It is a chronic recurrent systemic disease with unknown etiology and mainly characterized by arthritis. In the early stage, there are migratory joint pain, swelling and dysfunction, and in the late stage, there are joint stiffness and deformity, loss of function, and disability. The lesions are mainly in the synovium of the joints, followed by the serous membrane, heart, lungs, eyes, skin, blood vessels, kidneys and other tissues and organs. A small number of patients have a spontaneous remission trend after the onset of the disease. Most patients have recurrent illness, sometimes mild and sometimes severe. In a small number of patients, the condition continues to worsen and rarely stops. The development pattern of the disease can be summarized as: joint swelling rises and falls; joint pain is severe and light; arthritis flares up and down, lingering for years; If not controlled or cured, it will eventually lead to disability.

Rheumatoid arthritis can occur at any age

Rheumatoid arthritis can occur in people of any age. The youngest onset age is 6 weeks old, and the oldest onset age is 70 years old. The incidence rate generally increases with age, but the peak age of onset is between 20 and 40 years old, and for female patients it is between 40 and 60 years old. Rheumatoid arthritis that occurs before the age of 16 and adult onset rheumatoid arthritis are different in onset and clinical manifestations, so the former is called juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

Can be cured before deformation

Rheumatoid arthritis is completely curable before it develops into a deformed form. If it develops into a deformed form, it can only be controlled to prevent it from developing further.
