How long does it take to cure urethritis?

I believe everyone is familiar with urethritis. It is a common disease for both men and women. However, most people think that urethritis is just a minor disease that can be cured without treatment, thus ignoring the harm of urethritis.

How long does it take to heal?

The time it takes to heal varies depending on the type of infection. The normal treatment period is about two weeks, and taking anti-infection drugs is more than two weeks.

Classification of symptoms of urethritis

1. Symptoms of gonococcal urethritis: Gonorrhea is also called gonorrhea, which is divided into acute gonorrhea and chronic gonorrhea. Acute gonorrhea is characterized by dysuria and purulent urethral discharge as the main series of symptoms. Chronic gonorrhea is mostly a transformation of acute gonorrhea, usually manifested by repeated attacks of urethritis symptoms.

2. Symptoms of acute urethritis: There is a lot of urethral secretion, which is mucus at first and then gradually becomes purulent. At the same time, there is frequent urination, urgency and pain when urinating.

3. Symptoms of non-gonococcal urethritis: Symptoms are milder than those of gonorrhea. The urethra has an itching or burning sensation, and occasionally a stinging sensation. There is secretion at the urethral opening, but the secretion is thinner than that of gonorrhea, and is clear or light yellow, and the amount of secretion is also less than that of gonorrhea. A small amount of secretion will escape only after a long period of not urinating or before the first urination in the morning. Sometimes it only manifests as contamination of the trousers, and sometimes the patient has no conscious symptoms.

4. Symptoms of chronic urethritis: less secretion, mild symptoms, some patients have no symptoms. It is usually easy to ignore and misdiagnose.

5. Purulent secretions appear in the urethra, which are mucous at first and gradually become purulent, accompanied by redness and swelling of the urethral opening, eversion of the mucosa, urgency, frequency, pain, stinging pain in the urethra, mental depression, and in severe cases, chills, high fever, and difficulty urinating. The secretions of patients with chronic urethritis will decrease, and the symptoms of frequent urination, pain, and urgency will be alleviated during the non-acute attack period, accompanied only by itching or a tingling sensation, and some patients may have no symptoms. It is generally easy to ignore and misdiagnose.

How to prevent urethritis

1. Drink more water. Drink a glass of boiled water on an empty stomach in the morning to flush the "internal environment". During the day, you can drink more light water and less sugary drinks according to your drinking amount. After sweating a lot, you should replenish enough water.

2. Urinate frequently.

3. Underwear worn in hot weather should not be too small or too tight. Underwear should be made of cotton or linen fabrics that are both absorbent and breathable. Pay attention to personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, and change underwear frequently.

4. After defecation, toilet paper should be wiped from front to back to avoid contaminating the urethra.

5. To avoid reducing the body's resistance to disease due to excessive fatigue, adequate sleep should be ensured.

6. Increase the fiber in your diet and reduce the intake of salt, refined sugar, and protein. If necessary, reduce calcium intake and eat less animal offal and greasy food.

7. Stay optimistic, adjust your mindset in time, and relieve tension.

8. Get more active.

9. Other diseases that may cause urinary stones should be treated promptly, such as urinary tract infection, gout, hyperparathyroidism, etc.

10. According to the doctor's instructions, small urinary stones can be treated with medication to promote their excretion.
