Which sunscreen is the best? Four major brands have their own advantages

Nowadays, the beauty industry is very hot, and all kinds of skin care products have entered the eyes of consumers. With more and more brands, consumers are having trouble choosing. For example, which sunscreen is the best sunscreen for beauty lovers? Here, we will introduce how to choose sunscreen.

See through the sun protection index: SPF

The SPF value is the main content that is marked on every bottle of sunscreen. The real meaning of the SPF value seems too formal and difficult for people to understand. Scientifically, the sun protection index refers to the ratio of the energy required to produce the smallest erythema on the skin protected by sunscreen to the energy required to produce the same degree of erythema on the skin without any protection. Simply put, it is the multiple of the time the skin resists ultraviolet rays.

For Asian people, it is calculated like this: the average skin of Asian people can resist the sun for 15 minutes without being burned, so using SPF15 anti-ultraviolet products can provide about 225 minutes of sun protection. In theory, the level of sun protection index reflects the degree of ultraviolet protection of sunscreen products. The higher the SPF index, the greater the protection given, but the increase in SPF value is not proportional to the ability to block ultraviolet rays.

Generally speaking, the lowest level of sunscreen has an SPF of SPF2-6, the middle level has an SPF of SPF6-8, the highest level has an SPF of SPF8-12, the SPF of 12-20 is considered high-strength sunscreen, and the SPF of 20-30 is considered ultra-high-strength sunscreen. However, because many people like to be exposed to the sun abroad, the sunscreen products are designed with a relatively high index, some even reaching SPF80.

How to choose the right SPF value?

1. For people with normal skin, the SPF value should be between 8 and 12;

2. For people who are sensitive to light, an SPF value of 12-20 is appropriate;

3. People with sensitive skin should choose sunscreens with plant formulas or physical sunscreens containing titanium dioxide.

4. For office workers who are only exposed to the sun on their way to and from get off work, an SPF value of 15 or below is sufficient, with the focus on sun protection on the face;

5. When playing outdoors or swimming at the beach, the SPF value of sunscreen should be above 30. It is best to choose waterproof sunscreen skin care products when swimming.
