Two Traditional Chinese Medicine Methods for Treating Kidney Failure

Kidney problems are particularly harmful to people, especially men with renal failure. If it is not treated in time, it will inevitably have adverse effects on the patient. Does Chinese medicine have any good methods for treating renal failure?

Method 1: Fire poison and blood stasis

The main symptoms of renal failure are high fever, delirium, mania, dry vomiting, back pain, hematemesis, epistaxis, hematuria, purple-black or bright red macules, dark purple tongue, yellow and burnt or thorny tongue coating, and weak and rapid pulse.

Among them, the prescription of Qingwen Baidu Drink is generally selected with additions and subtractions: gypsum, radix rehmanniae, rhinoceros horn, cyperus, platycodon, scutellaria, rhizoma anemarrhenae, red peony root, figwort, liansuo, liquorice, moutan bark, fresh bamboo leaf. If the patient has more severe hematuria, add artichoke and cyperus root; if the patient is in a coma, add calamus and curcuma to clear the heart and open the channels; if the patient is seriously ill, add Angong Niuhuang Pill for treatment.

Method 2: Heat and toxicity

It is mainly aimed at the symptoms of renal failure, which are high fever, irritability, palpitations and shortness of breath, dry mouth and thirst, headache and body pain, less yellow and red urine, or urinary retention, red tongue, dry yellow tongue coating, and rapid pulse.

Generally, Baihu decoction combined with Huanglian Jiedu decoction is used with the following ingredients: gypsum, rhizoma anemarrhenae, licorice, japonica rice, rhizoma coptidis, baicalensis, phellodendron, and jasmine. If the patient has a severe fever, Zixue powder is added to clear away the pathogenic heat; if the patient is very thirsty, dendrobium and pollen are added to clear away heat, promote fluid production, and quench thirst; if the patient has short and dark urine or hematuria, artichokes, cyperus rotundus, and radix sanguisorbae are added to clear away heat, promote diuresis, and cool blood to stop bleeding.
