Men can nourish their livers by lying on their sides every night

In daily life, men pay more and more attention to health care, especially liver care. We know that there are many ways to care for the liver, but how many people know that liver care is closely related to sleeping posture? How can men sleep to care for the liver? What kind of sleeping posture is more helpful for men to care for the liver? Experts in men's health care point out that men are better at caring for the liver when they sleep on their side.

Sleeping on your side is better for your liver

The liver meridian is on both sides of the human body, and lying on one's side, whether on the left or right side, can nourish liver qi. Because when a person lies on his side, the blood naturally returns to the liver meridian, and "the liver stores blood". Once the blood returns to the liver meridian, the body can fall asleep peacefully and start the day's hematopoietic function.

It should be noted that when lying on your side, you must make sure that the pillow can provide sufficient support for your shoulders: if the pillow is too low, the head will tilt downward; if the pillow is too high, the head will be stretched uncomfortably; pillows that are too high or too low are both very uncomfortable.

Generally, research suggests that sleeping on the right side is the most scientific, because the heart is located on the left side of the chest cavity, and the heart is less stressed when sleeping on the right side. In addition, the openings of the stomach to the duodenum and the small intestine to the large intestine are all open to the right, which is conducive to the normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, sleeping on the right side is not only beneficial for nourishing the liver, but also for nourishing the heart and the stomach. However, it should be noted that the volume of the lungs on the right side of the chest cavity is larger than that on the left side. Lying on the right side will affect breathing movements and is not suitable for patients with emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis.

Compared with side sleeping, another common sleeping position is supine sleeping. When a person lies on his back, the Du channel and bladder meridian in the back are in close contact with the bed surface, so that the internal organs supported and suspended by them are in a very calm and natural state, so that Qi and blood can circulate throughout the body through the meridians of the human body. At the same time, supine sleeping can also support the head, neck and back very well, so it is also a good sleeping position.
