Symptoms of non-gonococcal urethritis in men

Symptoms of non-gonococcal urethritis in men

In today's modern life, everyone is under great pressure. Because of work or other reasons, people's bodies have developed some diseases without knowing it, and many people are in a sub-healthy state. For example, men are very likely to contract non-gonococcal urethritis. Once this disease occurs, if you don't pay attention to your body at ordinary times, it will make you very painful when the disease occurs. The following is a brief popularization of the relevant knowledge of this disease.

1. The average incubation period of non-gonococcal urethritis is 1-3 weeks.

2. The onset is not as acute as gonorrhea, and the symptoms are delayed, sometimes mild and sometimes severe, but milder than gonorrhea. About 50% of patients have symptoms such as urinary pain and urethral itching. It is easy to be missed at the first visit. Male non-gonococcal urethritis is manifested by urethral discomfort, itching, burning or stinging, red and swollen urethra, urethral secretions are mostly serous and thin, and there is a "mouthful" phenomenon in the morning. Female non-gonococcal urethritis is manifested by inflammation and erosion of the cervix, increased secretions, a large number of lobed white blood cells in the cervical secretions (more than 10 per field of view under a high-power microscope), vaginal and vulvar itching, and lower abdominal discomfort. Note: Some patients may have no symptoms or atypical symptoms, which are easy to be missed. There are many lobed leukocytes in the cervical secretion (more than 10 per field of view under high power).

3. The urethral secretion is small, thin, mucous or mucopurulent. If you do not urinate for a long time (such as in the morning), a small amount of thin secretion may overflow from the urethral opening. Sometimes it only manifests as a crust blocking the urethral opening or contaminating the underwear in the morning. During the examination, it is necessary to squeeze the anterior urethra from back to front to have a small amount of secretion overflow from the urethral opening. Sometimes the patient has symptoms but no secretion, or there may be no symptoms but secretion.

4. Often infected with gonorrhea at the same time. The former first presents gonorrhea symptoms. After anti-gonococcal treatment, gonococci are killed by penicillin, while chlamydia and mycoplasma still exist. The disease occurs 1-3 weeks after infection. Clinically, it is easy to be mistaken for uncured gonorrhea or recurrence.

5. Improper handling or inadequate treatment may cause complications (1%), such as acute epididymitis, prostatitis, colitis, pharyngitis, female cervicitis, cervical erosion, vestibular gland inflammation, vaginitis, salpingitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, etc.

6. Newborns may develop conjunctivitis 3-13 days after birth through the infected birth canal. There may be mucopurulent discharge from the eyes, or no discharge. However, the cornea is not usually invaded. Pneumonia may occur 2-3 weeks after birth. The symptoms are getting worse and the characteristic is shortness of breath, but there is no fever. Half of the children have conjunctivitis.

7. A very small number of patients may develop Reifer syndrome: urethritis, arthritis, keratitis, conjunctivitis and rash.

Disease is very scary, and I believe most people don't want to see it happen to themselves. So I want to remind everyone, especially men, not to hold urine or do other things that affect your health under any circumstances. Once male non-gonococcal urethritis occurs, it will inevitably cause a lot of trouble in your body and life. Take care of your health and take care of yourself.
