Testicular torsion is a common type of male urological disease. This disease often occurs in newborns and the elderly. In fact, testicular torsion is the torsion of the spermatic cord. After torsion, it may lead to testicular necrosis. In severe cases, the entire testicle may be removed. Testicular torsion is a disease that cannot be delayed. You must seek medical attention as soon as it is discovered. So what should you do if you have testicular torsion? If testicular torsion occurs, the best treatment is surgery. There are two types of surgical methods: surgical reduction and manual reduction. Surgical reduction: After the diagnosis of testicular torsion is made, surgical reduction should be performed as soon as possible, and the surgery should be completed within 6 hours of the onset of symptoms. After the twisted testicle is reduced, observe whether the blood circulation is normal, and then perform intermittent suture fixation of the testicle, spermatic cord and scrotal inner layer of the tunica vaginalis to prevent recurrence after surgery. If the testicular blood circulation is found to be extremely poor during the operation and cannot be restored after reduction, the testicle should be removed. Manual repositioning can generally be tried at the beginning of the disease. Analgesics and antispasmodics should be given first, and the horizontal and lifted testicles should be gently repositioned half an hour later. After successful repositioning, the scrotum is supported by a "T" band to allow the affected testicle to fully rest. However, manual repositioning cannot prevent recurrence. After the operation, you can apply ice to relieve pain and edema. At the same time, you should use a "T" band to support the scrotum for one week to gradually restore normal function. In daily life, many patients are careless about testicular torsion and endure the pain again and again, which delays early treatment. Some people lose their fertility and lead to lifelong misfortune. Therefore, if patients in and around puberty suddenly experience scrotal swelling and pain, especially teenagers, they should consider the possibility of testicular torsion and go to the hospital's urology department for examination and treatment in time. In fact, timely treatment of early testicular torsion has a very good effect. After recovery, you should go to the hospital for a semen examination to understand the recovery of the testicles. Normal semen means that the testicles have recovered better. If testicular torsion is not treated in time, it may lead to loss of testicular function, so it must be taken seriously. |
