Why does male sperm appear yellow?

Everyone knows that the color of male semen is usually milky white, but some men may have a yellowish color in their daily lives. At this time, because they don't know the specific cause, they will feel very worried. So why does semen become like this? For this reason, the editor has specially collected relevant information. If you need it, please take a look and deepen your understanding.

1. Genital tract inflammation. If you have normal sexual life but your semen continues to be yellow, it indicates that there is inflammation in the reproductive tract. It is likely to be a series of reproductive tract inflammatory diseases such as prostatitis and seminal vesiculitis. If it is not treated in time, it will affect the quality of semen and even cause infertility.

2. Sperm abnormality. When sperm in semen exceeds 20%, the sperm may be abnormal in shape, including the head, body, and tail, or a combination of head and body abnormalities. This will generally cause the sperm to turn yellow.

3. Long abstinence period. The color of semen is determined by the composition of semen. Semen is composed of sperm and seminal plasma. Sperm accounts for only a very small part, and more than 90% is seminal plasma. Seminal plasma is secreted by accessory glands such as the prostate, seminal vesicles, bulbourethral glands, and paraurethral glands. The main component is water, as well as fat, protein particles, pigment particles, lecithin bodies, enzymes, fructose and other components. The semen of a normal person is grayish white or slightly khaki. If the abstinence period is long, the color will be yellower due to changes in physical and chemical properties. This is all normal.

4. Sperm agglutination syndrome. The presence of sperm antibodies causes sperm to agglutinate. If sperm agglutination is found in both sperm agglutination test and post-coital test, it is sperm agglutination syndrome. The cause of yellow semen must be distinguished from seminal vesicle liquefaction syndrome.

Generally speaking, yellow sperm is usually caused by the above reasons. Although some of them are physiological, we still need to be vigilant and cannot ignore them. Therefore, the editor strongly recommends that all male friends should actively go to the hospital to check the function of the reproductive system once the symptom occurs, so as to avoid further deterioration of the lesion.
