What should men do if they have underarm odor?

Bromhidrosis is a common symptom. The occurrence of this symptom can easily bring us trouble, so we still have to pay attention to the symptom of bromhidrosis. We have many ways to prevent bromhidrosis. If the symptoms of bromhidrosis appear, we must treat it in time. There are many ways to treat bromhidrosis. We can not only use drugs to treat bromhidrosis, but also use surgery to treat bromhidrosis.

There are many methods for treating underarm odor, which can be divided into non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment according to whether surgery is required or not. Non-surgical treatments mainly include: (1) topical medication: topical medication mainly has antiperspirant, antibacterial and aromatherapy functions, but generally cannot completely destroy sweat glands, so it can only alleviate keratosis but cannot completely eliminate it; (2) machine ablation: commonly used are laser, high-frequency electroacupuncture, underarm odor removal machines, etc. The cauterization method can destroy the hair follicles and sweat glands to achieve the purpose of treatment. It is also simple to operate, has a quick recovery, leaves no scars, and is highly safe, but the treatment is often not thorough. (3) Local drug injection: The injection method can use the pharmacological properties of the drug to cause subcutaneous tissue fibrosis and protein denaturation, causing the apocrine sweat glands to atrophy and the ducts to close, thereby inhibiting the secretion of the apocrine sweat glands and achieving a therapeutic effect. However, if the injection method is not properly mastered, it may cause deep nerve and blood vessel damage or skin necrosis.

The main surgical treatments are: (1) Shuttle excision: the skin tissue of the armpit hair area is excised in a fusiform shape, and then the skin is stretched and sutured. This method can completely cure axillary odor, but the scar left after the operation is obvious, and sometimes the scar contraction will affect the range of motion of the upper arm; (2) Small incision peeling: a small vertical incision of about 3 cm long is made in the armpit, and then a spatula is used to scrape to remove the hair follicles and sweat gland tissue. This method leaves a small scar, but it is easy to form hematoma, and it is also very difficult to remove. The effect is not thorough; (3) S-shaped thin flap method: an S-shaped incision line is designed along the long axis of the axillary follicle to form two elliptical flaps. The hair follicles and shallow subcutaneous fat under the flap are trimmed to form a thin flap, which is then repositioned and sutured. This method has low skin tension and inconspicuous postoperative scars. The hair follicles and sweat glands are completely removed and are not prone to recurrence. However, improper trimming can easily cause necrosis of the flap tissue at the incision edge; (4) Axillary follicle suction method: This method evolved from liposuction. A small incision about 1 cm long is made in the armpit, and then anesthesia is perfused into the axillary suction area. The superficial subcutaneous layer is suctioned through the small incision with a suction tube. The hair follicles and sweat gland tissue can be destroyed and sucked out. This method is less painful, heals quickly after surgery, leaves small scars, is safe, and has satisfactory results. However, rough movements during suction can cause necrosis of the epidermis.

In the above article, we introduced a common symptom, which is axillary odor. We know that although axillary odor will not affect our health, it will affect our image. The above article introduces in detail what men should do if they have axillary odor.
