Penile cancer is the most common malignant tumor of the male genitals. Although it is relatively rare compared to common cancers such as lung cancer and gastric cancer, penile cancer is mostly seen in patients aged 40 to 60. In clinical medicine, penile cancer is mainly divided into two stages. If patients with stage I penile cancer actively receive treatment, the 5-year survival rate after surgery is 75%, while the 5-year survival rate of stage II patients is reduced to 50%; for patients who undergo concurrent inguinal lymph node removal and have existing metastasis, the 5-year survival rate is only 30%. So what are the symptoms of penile cancer? 1. Male testicular hyperplasia and lumps A lump on the testicle is a common symptom of penile cancer. The actual size is usually determined by the development of the tumor. It can be as small as a lentil, which is roughly visible to the human eye. Ways to refute: (1) Observe the difference between the two sides of the male testicles; (2) Press each side gently to see if there is any discomfort. 2. The scrotum feels like it is falling down The size and shape of the testicles on both sides of men are not absolutely symmetrical. Slight differences are normal. However, if one side feels noticeably heavier or even feels like it is falling, it may be caused by a disease. Do not ignore this discomfort and go to the hospital immediately! 3. Male testicular pain or testicular prolapse When you are sure that "that thing" has not suffered any external trauma, if you suddenly feel severe pain, it must be damage inside the human body. Don't be complacent. 4. Abdominal and back pain If you have the above symptoms and experience back pain, abdominal pain, and neck swelling, don't doubt that the tumor cells may have begun to spread from "that thing" to the upper part of the body. 5. Difficulty breathing When cancer cells metastasize to the lungs, patients will have persistent coughing and difficulty breathing. Patients with such symptoms have basically already gone to the hospital for treatment. 6. Breast swelling Testicular cancer can cause endocrine imbalance in the patient's body, making it impossible to metabolize androgen normally, resulting in high estrogen levels. Over time, the patient's breasts will swell. 7. Dysphagia If the condition is not controlled, the tumor cells will continue to spread to the lymph nodes in the patient's chest, causing the patient to be unable to swallow food normally and the chest will gradually swell. Fortunately, even after the cancer cells have metastasized, the patient's hope for recovery must not be given up. |
