What is male urethritis? Male urethritis is a common disease in men, often caused by obstruction of the urethral opening or inside the urethral opening, or caused by the spread of inflammation of the human organs below. It can be divided into acute urethritis and acute urethritis. The clinical symptoms of acute urethritis are more urethral secretions, while acute urethritis has less secretions, and most patients have no symptoms.

What causes male urethritis?

Male urethritis can be caused by obstruction of the urethral opening, such as urethral stenosis, prepuce is too long, posterior urethral valve, foreign body, tumor or stone in the urethral opening; it can also be caused by inflammation of adjacent organs of the human body flowing to the urethral opening; or, some mechanical or organic chemical stimulation can also cause it; in addition, some patients are infected due to sexual behavior.

Four major symptoms of male urethritis

1. Discharge at the urethral opening: When suffering from urethritis, people will have discharge at the urethral opening. In the early stage of the disease, the discharge is less and thinner, with mucous or mucosal purulent appearance. If you do not urinate for a long time, a small amount of thin discharge will also overflow from the urethral opening. Sometimes, the main manifestation is that the scab seals the urethral opening when you wake up in the morning or the environment contaminates the underwear.

2. Urethral itching: Because urethritis will produce some secretions, in the long run, the patient will feel urethral itching. Although acute urethritis has little secretions, itching or ants sensation will occur. Some patients also have no obvious symptoms.

3. Abnormal urination: Patients with urethritis will experience symptoms such as painful urination, inability to hold urine, frequent and urgent urination, and turbid urine. Generally, the frequency of urination increases, and they may feel burning and pain when urinating. Sometimes the pain radiates to the lower abdomen or vulva. Some patients have turbid urine and sometimes continue to have hematuria.

4. High risk of other complications: If urethritis is not treated for a long time, the patient may also develop orchitis, epididymitis, prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, epididymal nodules, bilateral fallopian tube obstruction, decreased sperm density and quality, impotence, premature ejaculation, male infertility and other symptoms.

Five treatments for male urethritis

1. Eliminate the cause of the disease: Male urethritis is mostly caused by factors such as urethral obstruction and inflammation of adjacent human organs. Therefore, patients should first eliminate the cause of the disease in their daily life, pay attention to clean hygiene issues, and treat other symptoms in time.

2. Antibiotic treatment: Common drugs include norfloxacin, co-trimoxazole, etc.

3. Auxiliary treatment: If the patient is in acute symptoms, he should drink more water to increase urination, which can be used to clean the urethral opening; when urinating frequently, urgently, unable to hold urine, and painful urination, he can take anticonvulsant drugs, such as flavonoids pheniramine or tertorodine; he can take soda tablets to adjust the pH value in the urine to relieve symptoms.

4. Chinese medicine treatment: 9g of salt plantain seeds, 9g of akebia, 9g of superbus, 15g of feldspar, 18g of raw rehmannia root, 12g of light bamboo leaves, 9g of plaque moss, 6g of liquorice root. It has the effects of clearing away heat, removing dampness and removing toxins.

5. Partial treatment: used for acute urethritis, such as urethral dilation (which has drainage and massage effects, and can prevent inflammatory urethral stenosis), urethral injection of slurry (such as injecting 5% to 10% weak protein silver into the urethral opening, which has astringent and relieving inflammation effects), and endoscope electrocautery in the urethral opening (suitable for conditions with ulcers and small granular tissues in the urethral opening).
